Words like violence
Break the silence
Come crashing in
Into my little world

Painful to me
Pierce right through me
Can't you understand
Oh, my little girl

All I ever wanted, all I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

Vows are spoken
To be broken
Feelings are intense
Words are trivial

Pleasures remain
So does the pain
Words are meaningless
And forgettable

All I ever wanted, all I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

All I ever wanted, all I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

All I ever wanted, all I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

Enjoy the silence

Top tune - my little girl was born when this was playin, she is anything but silent though!

That must have been one odd maternity ward.
8 to 9 during one play itself.
Love it. Still. Saw them again recently and such a good vibe as always.
This calls for big horns and I don't mean the ones you blow into! KEF Fostex big ones cracked the plaster.
Defo get yer dance on..
After 30 years, I just saw them again a couple weeks ago, still a great show!

A very sweet love song.
Best band ever....RIP Fletch.
Incredible transition from "We used to wait" - Arcade Fire!
Proper ROCK STARS
Love this band.
I think the banana was made for this.
"All I ever I wanted, all I needed, is here in my arms", may mean something different than I originally thought.

I sang the Tori Amos cover of this song to my girls when they were babes.

Everybody has different tastes. Thank You for being polite about it!  I think this tune is GREAT!
RIP Andy🙏
Thank you and godspeed Andy Fletcher
Rest in peace, Andrew Fletcher!

Excellence. Such a shame about Fletch. God bless him.
As perfect a song as you're gonna get - a timeless classic

The perfect 80s electro-pop song

Released in 1990..... they were a bit slow?
This track is pretty darn good in CONTEXT when played as a part of the entire album.  As a single, or just played as a one off like RP does, its not as strong.  I'd way rather hear some of their earlier stuff that really attacked the new ground they were exploring in the mid 80's....most anything off of Black Celebration is far more dark, menacing and gut-punching.  This track always just felt like their label wanted a single.

10 here. Incredible, and ages extremely well.

Amazing. I have noticed that there are a lot of French RP listeners. I have seen that the french guys either can't speak english very well or hesitate to speak , but they do admire a lot of classical english songs.  Cheers!

New paragraph. Not really.
Godammit - this sounds so good. I never think to listen to DM.

I am going to remedy that now.

another one of those, you just know who it is from the first note. I have found their studio stuff pretty good. I downloaded a concert and found it very annoying...bad mix....bad night...dunno...but I was disappointed none the less.

So, there's a bar, in Estonia, where Depeche Mode is always playing. Who needs hell when there's this?
Some 80's songs age better than others...like this one.
More DM please! Something from "Songs of Faith and Devotion"!
DP are timeless somehow, more please
Just saw them in concert. They get better with age, and their lyrics are timeless. Thanks for playing.
Words certainly can do harm. An embrace works better.
Wispy cotton candy atmosphere music.  Always enjoyable ......... or maybe it's just the headphones today.

Those chords...that sci-fi soundscape...the dark-tinged, precise vocals...so uniquely New Wave, but still sounds wonderful in play today
I heard Tori Amos do a KILLER cover of this recently. Thought it was better than the original.
notched this up to a 9.
All I ever wanted, all I ever needed.

simply a classic
classical dancing very nice number!
Straight 10 even after all these years.
Saw them last year in Amsterdam and before in Austin. Epic performance. Still.
The future is here.  It's just not evenly distributed.

I did not know what a CD is in 1990. Maybe five years later, more towards 2000, they started to be more common there where I lived at that time (a very small town in a post-communist country).

I tried to do as the title said but then I could not enjoy the song.

Don't pee on their Corn Flakes! It happened that way and that's how they want to remember it (I do the same thing {#Drool}). If we want to say that we remember walking to school in two feet of snow up hill both ways, so be it!

Thanks RP!!!!!

I'm seeing these guys in Brooklyn in exactly 7 days.
extremely danceable, this one can overpower whatever else is going on around and put me right on the dance floor, and in my mind's eye the lead singer is doing the oh-so physical enactment of these simple lyrics...just the most basic statement of all our desires

always liked this one
