There are plenty of gay, lesbian and transgender people in the republican party and everyone gets along for the most part. Here's three regulars on FNC for openers ... Guy Benson, Tammy Bruce and Caitlin Jenner. There are many more. But as with the democratic dogma, they are not real gay, lesbian and transgender people because they are conservative repubs. Same as the dem party does not consider black people to be real black people if they do not vote democrat. Remember Biden's famous quote on you're not really black if you don't vote for me ... ?
What is objected to most is what is going on with the pressuring of minor children to go trans and keep it secret from their parents. And men taking over and trashing women's athletics. This is what the real problems are. Adults can be adults in the party. Its about leave the kids alone, long story short.
Santos is a problem to be sure and should go, but the bar for honesty has been lowered to a new low by Biden.
This is also my thought. I want to be careful to say out loud that it's not criticizing gay, or trans, or cross-dressing, or whatever per se. It's just that if you stereotype the contemporary Republican Party - those are absolutely not things that they're known for accepting under their big tent. And you're right about the veteran swindle, too. But, as we know, the GOP is now merely the party of "own the Dems" at any - and, as we saw from Trump's nomination/election, at any cost - even the legitimacy and long term future of the GOP. They try to use the phrase "Trump derangement syndrome" as a pejorative, but we all know that they're deep in a frenzy of their own derangement, causing them to accept an awful lot of crazies (Greene, Boebert, Gaetz, Paul, Santos, Trump, and a lot more) just for the sake of winning an election. And their platform is.... Own the Dems That's all.

I doubt Trump supporters will stand by a gay man who's promoted transgender people in the party and practiced cross-dressing. Then you have reports that he swindled a homeless veteran out of GoFundMe donations to save the life of the vet's dog. I don't know who Santos's base is supposed to be...

We're not even going to be at the bottom when someone gets assassinated. Someone, somewhere thinks that's going to stop things but it'll just make it worse.

You can only hope that the voters who want to burn the house down get tired of the lies, incompetence and destructiveness of the current GOP. But you may be right: we may come to yearn for the good old days of Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz.
