That is the very first release. in this instance the US release came out before the UK release. Then Bowie changed labels and the next batch had different artwork. The Victorian building on the cover was supposedly of an insane asylum in Texas.

I have never seen that cover art. Ever. I don't think. No, really sure. Weird.

There is a photo going around on Twitter and FB of Bowie. The claim is that it was the last photo taken of him, on his birthday, by his wife. Unfortunately, the poster took a watermarked photo taken by someone else and removed the watermark. It's an old picture. Don't fall for it, and share it on social media. People are dicks.
turns out the photos are from a few days ago, but they weren't taken by Iman.
Overheard on an NPR show sign-off earlier today, paraphrased: Whatever else in your news today, know this—The earth is approximately 4.5 Billion y.o. And if you’re listening to this, count your blessings that you spent part of that time on the planet with David Bowie.
Very touching.
sweet indeed.
i've been listening to blackstar all day. i have only been drawn to a handful of songs he's done since the 70s but this is one fantastic piece of work to leave us with. haunting and masterful.

Came across this while seeing what current pictures of his children look like.
Isn't this just beautiful?

"And these children that you spit on as they try to change their worlds are immune to your consultations. They're quite aware of what they're going through."
