Got my Dad's Baked Beans Especial on the cook and getting ready to head to where I can absorb some family love.
Much grateful for Radio Paradise wizards behind the curtain and especially the balloon pilot and the regular skeleton crew on the forum and all the lurkers and walkabouts and MIAs and special RIPs and the banned to be born again here at this conjunction of music and food for musical spirits.

Never heard that term before a few days ago; I always thought it was just called "butterflying".  I've had chicken made that way; turkeys seem like they would take some serious butchering hardware - or need to be taken to a butcher.

I've done it with a sturdy chef's knife. Works pretty well. Mark Bittman recommends cutting up the turkey into separate parts so that you can vary the cooking style to match the type of meat.

I'm assigned desserts.
1) a complex oatmeal raisin cookie that includes dark brown sugar, vanilla, and cardamom
2) pie: pumpkin-tahini swirl
3) cake: invisible apple cake with a miso caramel sauce

That looks absolutely delicious, and it’s crucial that the stuffing occupies a significant part of the plate
