But of course the developing nations are still left behind and returning citizens are one of the sources of our current wave.  So yeah, the Federal government really shouldn't have hosed up the vaccination program and that wasn't their reasoning. Their reasoning seems to be that Astra-Zeneca is slightly less expensive and they thought it would be good for business to have it manufactured in Australia.

The lockdowns are frustrating but, we learned is that they will only be longer and more people will die if you wait.

Just yesterday, I was in a little back-and-forth with someone who pre-vaccine was often heard shouting "masks don't protect me" and we said no, they protect others. So now the vax is out and the very same person said "I guess you're not aware but the vaccine doesn't protect others so get it for yourself and let me choose" so a year ago they wouldn't bother because it was only to protect others and now they won't bother because it's only to protect ourselves.
