Funny you should mention this. Partially inspired by Ken Burns Country music documentary which is fabulous btw and the synchronization of creating a mix for my mom who like this kind of music, this is what I have been into lately.
I've been a fan for quite sometime. Love the Sirus/XM channel "Dwight Yokum's Bakersfield Beat" and "Outlaw Country".
Yea that is the kind of country I am drawn too as well.

Someone came back into my music listening... Rosie Vela
Zazu was one of the best in my album collection back when...to me she was ahead of her time. Wish I could here more of her...wish I could hear some of her material on RP

come on down for the FAT memories. Read about it. Listen for awhile. Stay for the future past... Get up early one morning and sit at the kitchen dinette with a Bluetooth speaker crammed in a vintage table radio cabinet...one of those wild little deco things with peace symbols all over it like I had when I was a kid, except... skip a smooth stone off a new farm pond whilst sitting there drinking strong coffee and crunching on toast with marmalade; orange I think... Tune in the FAT. Bacon. Hot popping bubbles if it. Belly up... '75...76...77789. no matter. Call it Americana. Call it american...call it country... Call it crazy........... just call it up in your own personal savory sweet sour bubble... dance... sway... be rowdy... come hungry... then after all that... remember it with a fine toothed comb and hold it down with some classic Brylcreem... shuck it... pluck it... or wait til late at night when it gets really nutty don't say I didn't warn you... And whatever you dast, don't ask Bill if it was wild... or do...
and that is where all of this is at...layers of FAT

Would love to see a Roots/Americana/Classic Country mix - From the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers to modern acts like Old Crow Medicine Show. Anyone second the motion?
