For some clarity: "...Trump did take a helicopter ride with California governor Jerry Brown and governor-elect Gavin Newsom in 2018 to survey damage from the Camp Fire, the deadliest wildfire in the stateâs history. So maybe he just got confused about which California politician he shared a near-death experience with?... ...both Jerry Brown and Newsom told the Times that nothing unusual happened during their 2018 helicopter ride with Trump. 'There was no emergency landing and no discussion of Kamala Harris,' the former governor said through a spokesperson. Newsom said basically the same thing, with more detail and chuckling: âI call complete B.S.,â Mr. Newsom said, laughing out loud. ⦠'I was on a helicopter with Jerry Brown and Trump, and it didnât go down,â Mr. Newsom, 56, said in an interview. He said that Mr. Trump had, however, repeatedly brought up the possibility of crashing...' The Trump campaign has not offered a plausible explanation for Trumpâs story. When CNN asked Trump-campaign spokesman Steven Cheung to elaborate, he only responded, âSlick Willie!â â a nickname of Willie Brownâs. Itâs quite hard to believe that the president and two California governors nearly died in 2018 and it wasnât reported at the time â or that Trump ever survived a brush with death and kept quiet about it..."
Congrats to whomever—professional journalists, hopefully—for sifting through Trump's story for its slight association with reality. But the main thrust of Trump's claim is BS once again.
This isn't embellishment or exaggeration or even acceptable. If Joe Biden told this fantasy, the press would be baying for invocation of the Constitution's 25th Amendment and removal due to incompetence.
Trump had plenty of time to prepare for this press conference. He absolutely crapped the bed.
The whole lie about Trump being in a helicopter with Willie Brown when it went down...Enough is enough. And no, Trump didn't really mean Jerry Brown. Or Gavin Newson.
Too many journalists are just blindly reporting Trump's BS without fact checking.
John Bolton is convinced that Trump truly can't distinguish between fact and his desired fictions. Trump has dementia and an obsessive-compulsive lying disorder. He is badly broken.

I think Don's going to borrow a few ideas from Richard Scarry and lump them into one yuuuge book. Yes.
If you're Trump...not a whole helluva lot.
Economic meltdown! 500,000 Americans dead from Covid during Trump's term! Endless whining about stolen elections! Lawsuits and criminal investigations galore! Whee!
What Voters in Wyoming Say About Liz Cheneyâs Lonely Stand In a heavily Republican state, their lone congresswomanâs defiance of the former president is unpopular. But some residents still stick up for her. âShe told the truth!â one proclaimed.
I hate HATE that I'm rooting for Liz Cheney right now, but here we are.
I'd settle for some acceptance of sane Republicans, too. Look at what's happening with the backlash Gov Gordon is getting. I mean, I don't agree with a lot of the guy's policies and actions, but if we had someone else at the helm during this pandemic I guarantee you it would have been an unparalleled shitshow.
Sanity, or more accurately the lack of it, has become their litmus test. c.
So I'm in favor of ranked choice voting in some form but maybe not. If it had been in play during the governor's race, we'd have Harriet Hageman or Foster Friess as governor. And if it's in play now, we'd definitely get Gray or Douchard... but as it is, they're both so egotistical they're not going to give the other a break and will probably let Liz keep her seat. Fingers crossed.
I do hope this is one of those years that a sane Democrat runs... just in case one of the nutjobs wins the primary.

I see the Governors of some other states making headlines with the crazier-train ravings and just stare blankly, knowing what's coming for us.
Take this as a heads-up, America: you have not seen crazy politicians AT ALL.

Cripes. Chuck Gray is actually the Rep for our district. Came up to our door campaigning a couple of years ago while we were in the middle of re-flooring the entire damn upper floor of our house. I simply asked him what he had to offer his non-religious constituents and within maybe 2 minutes literally had to chase him off of our front porch after receiving an insane frothy-mouthed shouting response. Not a fan.
