If I was feeling generous, I'd say that Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is a small-L liberal who is vulnerable and stymied by the conservative wing of the party and the coalition with the even more conservative National Party. I believe he personally is in favour of doing something about greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. But I'm not in a generous mood today and ultimately it is up to him to lead the party in the right direction. They act concerned then proceed to cut scientific research and keep things secret for blatantly political reasons (to be fair, all the parties here are shocking about that).

But no worries. The only parts of Australia that are disappearing are the low-lying coastal areas and the reef. Oh, I forgot about our fresh water supplies, agriculture, and industries.

And let's not forget the refugees.

The jogger taken out by an airborne kangaroo thinks the incident might have been a bit of karma for his choice of dinner on Tuesday night.

And even the dead animals are dangerous
Two men have serious injuries after a group of cyclists ploughed into a dead kangaroo during a morning ride in northern Victoria.

The group of nine cyclists crashed into the kangaroo on the Goulburn Valley Highway near Shepparton about 6:30am.

A ute travelling behind them then ran into one of the cyclists, trapping him for a short time.

A 72-year-old man has told rescuers how he battled crocodiles after watching his friend drown in northern Australia

The pair were catching mud crabs when one of the reptiles capsized their 3m (10ft) "tinny" boat at Leaders Creek in Darwin on Tuesday morning.

One man drowned after he became trapped while trying to get back onto the boat.

The other fisherman managed to smash one of the animals on the skull with a spanner during the three-hour ordeal.

We don't often lose Bendigonians to crocodiles.

They can be very aggressive. Glad only the Queenslanders have to deal with cassowaries (Queenslanders can be quite aggressive, too.)

We ran into one about six clicks out on a trail around a lake in the Atherton Tableland. We played statue real nice like. Barrine, I think. Hard to say - it was 21 years ago.
