Haven't seen the film, or the play, nor read the book, but we, as in Nancy, as Warhorse is a children's book, are going to try and start with the book and try and see the play. But I think the book might be a bit old for N as she's only 8, so we'll have to put everything on hold for a couple of years, which is difficult as the full Hollywood hype is being unleashed around its opening. But Micheal Morpurgo is a great author, and lives up in North Devon - apparently the British bits of the film were filmed around where he lives, and where the true stories the book was based on happened, which is nice for us.

I think if viewed exclusively in the context of the books, it might not be as enjoyable - it's very different from them. If you look at it as an action flick, it's a hoot.
