Same here, the wife keeps a portable compost bin in the kitchen to carry out to the big one when full, always full of coffee grounds, banana and pineapple skins (wife's been on a pineapple binge, eats 2 or 3 whole pineapples week!). Has one of those flip lids, lid up; flies everywhere! Lid down, all gone! Fruit flies are very dedicated and focused.

All the damn fruit flies in the house because we have 2 bowls of fresh organic fruit sitting there going bad.
