So I wake up this morning and see an email saying my package has shipped complete with a tracking number. I search the number and end up at the USPS website. It was not the usual USPS number. Says "Label Created, not yet in system". Which is normal as I get that when I create a shipping label before I drop my package off at the PO. The kicker is it says China post. Stay tuned.

Just got home and found an order confirmation email for the Wall from the site we are discussing.
Says order is being processed and will notify me when it ships.
I wasn't planning on buying this anytime soon but the price was too good to pass up. We'll see.

My daughter stopped by an hour ago, and said "you won't believe the story I heard in line at the bank". The woman in front of her was changing all of her accounts, after meeting a very good looking and nice man on Tinder, who had her download apps to her phone and enter her banking information.
It's a live and learn thing. The site did take my card the first time and it did show up when I called my cc company. I tried seeing if there were any other albums that I might want but nope and just went The Wall.
I have a routine where when I wake up I have to reset my modem so our land line phone works properly (long story) and after it is done rebooting, I check out discogs to see if I sold anything overnight and then come here to check out things out for a minute. Saw that and jumped.
It will be interesting to see if I actually get the album, but I am all primed to contest the transaction in case I don't.
I called my CC company (Chase) to kill the first used card and she said that they denied a payment of $60 to a company today. Asked her the name (I forget it, but started with an H like Honest? Was three words) and when I put it in the search, first hit had the name and scam and China.
The other three cards had no denied/accepted charges, but killed them anyway. Puts a crimp in my points-gathering that helps pay for this trip, but as a wise man once told me, âLive and learn.â
yeah. Should'a simply removed the post with the link to prevent others from falling victim rather than leaving it up. And leaving it up for what purpose since it was no good ? I trusted him (as I would any old time regular) to do some vetting before posting. I saw it while getting ready for work and was kinda rushed. I shoulda figured it out when the PayPal link didn't light up. Sometimes there are real overstock closeouts that work like that. I hunt around for stuff all the time. I did get the card number changed, but the transaction has posted. I'm more worried that they would have my info to use than the $18. Well see. Maybe I will actually get the album. I'll post an update as this works through the system.

Then I went through all 139 pages of LPs, and created quite the shopping cart. Took so long (13 minutes once I started adding things) that the 15 minute time limit made me work fast. Added card one - denied. Added card two - denied. WTF? Shut off VPN - added card three - denied. Tried some other things to trouble shoot but time was running out and there were ore than a dozen records in the pile. Then - time ran out. WTF again? Then it dawned on me. And I did the web search. And found the thing that ID’d it as a scam, so came back and removed the original post but left my scam post there so no one would be tricked. Very sorry that in that relatively short amount of time you saw it. Really didn’t expect anyone to be awake then, since no one was biting on my post. All told, gonna have to reset 5 cards. While I’m on the road, so the new cards will go to my empty house. Crap.

In fairness... somebody went to a bit of trouble setting up that site. They scraped all of the real EMI store data/pictures... and "poof"... new store. That said, there are some obvious "tells". Everything is the same price? I don't buy albums now... but even I know nothing is the same price... especially not at $7.99. Any site that suggests there are hundreds and hundreds of people looking at something (like the 914 looking at Depeche Mode's greatest hits right now?)... and a countdown timer for a sale (that doesn't end at midnight/top of any hour)... is suspect. What I enjoyed is that they have every social media link known to mankind at the bottom...and they all go to the generic site. It's actually kinda foolish to have them...but... Data truly is the new oil.
