Facts! And, to the nay-sayers regarding origins... Does it matter? If your ears enjoy, rejoice! If not, PSD!
This is really good
Wow - the first few measures I heard, I thought it was Ace of Bass.

It sounds good in French, although a little bit... pop. I was not surprised to read she did the Eurovision contest.
It seems like people's mentalities have evolved here on RP. Most of the bad comments are from a few years ago, the recent ones are mostly good.
Hats off to RP for playing through the hate wave!
Makes you wonder why they listen to a station they hate by their own admission.

It may not be for everybody but suits me fine.
I get if someone says it's not the kind of music they like.
But this is a well made, well executed song. That 15% of the people voting gave it only 1 star out of 10 is absurd. And sad.

And for those wondering, here are the lyrics and translation for the French part, at least. Paging all Arabic speakers!
Entre le ciel et la Terre
(Between the Sky and the Earth)
Comment allumer la lumière
(How can we get some light)
Ne me pousse pas
(Don't push me)
Il y a de la place pour toi
(There's some room for you)
Écoute ton coeur
(Listen to your heart)
Battre les rythmes de la guerre
(Beating to war rythms)
Pourtant tu prie,
(However, you pray)
Ce désert si sincère,
(This so sincere desert)
CHORUS
(Arabic lyrics)
Dis-moi comment, dis-moi pourquoi
(Tell me how, tell me why)
On se fait la tête comme ça
(We're fighting/sulking like that)
(Arabic lyrics)
Dis-moi comment, dis-moi pourquoi
(Tell me how, tell me why)
On en est même arrivé là?
(We even got to this point?)
Entre le ciel et la Terre

I do know that the title means Tell me why. But I can't hear the language fast enough to translate it. It's been too many years since French class.
I did a quick google search, but apparently there is more than one song with similar titles out there....
I would be curious to see an english translation. Any RP lyrics magicians out there? Until then, I will just groove with it...

Quelle horreur !!!
Nice to hear some Arabic on RP
Ha, nothing like signing up for a trip to the Mediterranean, then opening RP to find this excellent and severely unrated song first thing! I'm ready to go now!

Xenophobic might be a better term . Sadly there seems to be quite a bit of negative reaction to many foreign language songs played here, especially anything with a middle eastern or Arabic flavour. The one dark cloud in the otherwise clear blue skies of RP !.
It's actually OK to dislike a song just because you dislike the song without it having to be a social commentary.
I consider myself very open-minded about music. I like what I like and I don't care where it came from.
This song ... I just don't like. That's it.

Paging @Aligator... I want to listen to this song with you so we can decipher the lyrics together.
This is pretty good in my book. 6

Some pretty conservative reactions so far! I've come to expect a bit more cosmopolitanism from RP listeners.

Wish more people shared your view, however it seems that a significant portion of the audience (you know who you are) hate it per default if it ain't english or heaven forbid it sounds persian - then the red bar shoots up like crazy.
@Bill, perhaps a feature request to consider; it would be quite interesting if you could display a some kind of (pie?) chart of the country distribution on the votes for each rating bar, when you mouse over it or something.

Like Anglo-American music is the only sort of music that really matters Someone from the Middle East might as well say (and there will probably be a lot of people there who say so); 'what is it with this Western influence on music lately?!'.
It's getting us nowhere. The world is more than ever one big melting-pot.
I'm thinkin' no.
It just doesn't work for me.

Are you sure the lyric track isn\'t being run backwards?
C\'est merde!
yeah, \"i say why\" are you subjecting your listeners to this.
(NOT tears of joy)
I read the bio and immediately googled to find that She was indeed *that* Eurovision entry.
I remember being absolutely blown away by her song and singing. It was just so much better than anything else, and a total departure from the usual euro pop.
She was robbed of a deserved win IMHO.
Thanks RP for reminding me of this.
