Venga hermano ay que dolor que pena . Que super beat
Not to my taste...had to shut down until it past.  My app does not do forwarding.
I don’t know, I thought it was kinda catchy

Guess it's something I"d have to be in the right mood to hear, maybe I'm not in that mood right now.
Reminds me a bit of Yellow. I'm never not in the mood to hear a Yellow tune though.

Well, 11 years later I give it an 8.
This reminds on some level — bass? rhythm of the lyrics? — of “Get Off” by Foxy. I don’t get the sense that a ton of RP listeners were listening to disco in 1978 so I’m not sure anyone else is going to chime in on this opinion.
TOTALLY COOL!!  Thanx RP!

Bass part alone deserves a high score.

I Agree! Thanx RP!

What was I thinking!?!? Upping for 7 -> 9, easy! This tune seriously swings.

A life well lived is precious.
Great! I never heard of him before. Thank You RP!
The weird squawling horns are too grating, fine for 3 minutes but not for a 5-minute song.  Insta-PSD.
Cannot not dance to this-even when I just spent an hour and a half in the dentist getting a tooth removed.

Like Rap in the '80's in NYC?

I never even heard of that song. I think you've been doing something wrong.

Hmm, I could use some good herb.
...thought I heard Zappa.

Add the horns to that too.  No me digas que no...
dancing banana worthy

 Please post some lyrics?

I am guessing the people that "hate" this are the same  ones that cant stand any prog stuff. What gives new music haters?  Try to open your ears.
"If you like my BODY and you think I'm SEXY"? How do ya say lawsuit in Spanish?
A sort of Latino Yello, well done RP

This tune seriously swings. What a beat! Great horns! Me gusto
would be amazing as an instrumental.
Worst song ever.
not very good - but make me shake though - the horn riffs are very reminiscent to WAR though...
Reminds me of some of the cool world fusion acts that I get to see every July at "Sunfest" in Canada. Best world music festival I've seen.

According to wilipedia, it is Meshell Ndegeocello  No wonder it is so bad ass!
Me no Popeye.
I can't work when I hear this, I HAVE TO get up and dance !!! this is great, I love it :)
I can't stop dancing!

Haha I just came to say that bass part alone annoys me!
I couldn't exactly tell what bothers me in this song, but it's a 3 and it won't go higher!

Me gusta.....8
rated this an 8 when I first heard it a little while ago, it's hot imo
I imagine that I have unusual tastes in music (probably why I come to RP), but I am really liking this tune. Lost of energy, great Latin beat, and they are from my hood. What's not to like?
Wow. Two Yerba Buena cuts from this terrific album in the last 2-3 days. Bueno!

Slang like that is always tricky to learn from across the ocean ;-)

You've got to like the genre to appreciate it.  Ranks W-A-A-A-Y higher than rated.

A (current) 4.3 rating? Strange that this is rated so low, I think it fits perfectly on RP for an occasional play. . . sometimes the ratings here make no sense to me, but as they are obviously a true representation of the feelings of RP listeners then I'll just have to admit I am sometimes slightly out of step with the majority. . . which to be honest, is something I have been for all my years.

Why are most spanish songs aired at radioparadise so horrible?

This one is horrible and and plays right into cheesy Latin stereotypes, right enough, but RP does play some pretty good Spanish-language artists on a regular basis. Calexico, Los Lobos and Cuban artists come immediately to mind.

Why are most spanish songs aired at radioparadise so horrible? Moreover, why do they almost always belong to "caribbean" genres? Some Piazzolla's tangos are heard now and then, but if the idea is to keep music as "native" as possible, other latinamerican artists/genres may be included (e.g. the great Mercedes Sosa).
All in all, I am not liking this rather obtuse representation of latinamerica and its music.

YUCK......

Saw them live at Jazzfest here in Mtl two weeks ago on an outdoor stage and they did have a fair amount of synths on stage along with the real percussionist, who was indeed solid. In order to appreciate this ya'll, ya really gotta see them dancing and going nuts on stage. Context is everything sometimes. BillG wrote:
Unless I'm very much mistaken, all of the percussion & drum parts on this are played live by actual humans (a very talented crew of NYC & So. American session players). Hard to get that solid of a groove from a machine. Not that I have anything against electronic drum tracks & loops - but that's not what's happening here.

I'm sorry, but anyone giving this song a 10 needs their head examined, starting at the ears (defective maybe?). I mean, if you can give this a ten, you can give half of the music in the world a 10, and then, what are all those other numbers for? :-k
queso queso queso
this song would be more enjoyable had i not just heard it yesterday!!! thanks!
So the band's name means "good grass." Perhaps that's what I'm missing in order to enjoy it...
holy hell. what have we done to deserve this punishment? this is making me want to rip my ears off and stomp on them. i guess i'll just switch the station instead. yuck.

:? even "world" music has its fair share of cheese, i suppose.

have to agree.
Yeah! :2dancingbananas:
So this is what Ricky Martin is doing these days.
There HAS to be better music representative of its homeland than this!
I guess I could give it more than a 3 if I didn\'t hear it every farking day. :( Makes me look back fondly on the days of \"Somewhere over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World\".
I can do without the Latino-salsa-merengue-cha crossover in my rock music. Cuban "charanga" is great in its place . . . but for me that place is not called "rock music." Good for dance venues. And I am allergic to brass instruments in rock. To me they are like putting salt in coffee--some more so than others.

As someone who lives in Spain, you're in a position to educate us. Start uploading, please. I'm sure there's great stuff from there that we'll never hear here unless you do. The only band I can name from Spain is Los Relampagos.
props to radio paradise for exposing me to this group. damn, great song, killer vibe. will look to buy the album (imagine that)

Deadwood has an old-west main street/Vegas thing going, with boardwalks and gambling. Not far from Mt. Rushmore. Mr P-Funk's going to be at the Deadwood Jam (2 days), with John McEuen and the Young Dubliners.
I feel like I\'m in Andale Bar in Puerto Vallarta with a major buzz.
Many more like this and I will never listen to this station again.

Yeah. I agree. Booty shakin! ;) As I posted earlier, in a similar vein, people sometimes limit themselves with an approach that heavily leans primarily toward 9's and 10's and 2's and 1's. Some of the just "ok" songs may be new, still - possibly - overcoming the prejudice of unfamiliarity. Or they may be classic/vintage cuts - regardless of genre - that are deeply and passionately enjoyed by a smaller group of people than the "mainstream" of the Paradise audience. Most of the new music judged to be bland and/or bad is removed in due course by Bill. It is good to have the opportunity to hear new sounds - regardless of era. The older material that scores uniformly in the bland/acceptable area are probably also removed, along with the songs judged to be out and out "bad/revolting" ;) But there should always be a place for songs that are considered great by a portion of the audience. I myself enjoy reconsidering my opinion at those times, listening with fresh ears.
This song is like havnig red hot forks stuck into my eyes. Torture. Please make it stop. Reminds me of my old neighborhood which isn\'t a good thing either.
Basta!!!!! Estoy hasta los huevos de esta cancion!!!! Paso de traducirlo....
