Together we'll stand
Divided we'll fall
Come on now, people
Let's get on the ball

And work together
Come on, come on
Let's work together
Now, now people
Because together we will stand
Every boy, every girl and man

People, when things go wrong
As they sometimes will
And the road you travel
It stays all uphill

Let's work together
Come on, come on
Let's work together, ah
You know together we will stand
Every boy, girl, woman and man

Oh well now, two or three minutes
Two or three hours
What does it matter now
In this life of ours

Let's work together
Come on, come on
Let's work together
Now, now people
Because together we will stand
Every boy, every woman and man

Ah, come on
Ah, come on, let's work together

Well now, make someone happy
Make someone smile
Let's all work together
And make life worthwhile

Let's work together
Come on, come on
Let's work together
Now, now people
Because together we will stand
Every boy, girl, woman and man

Oh well now, come on you people
Walk hand in hand
Let's make this world of ours
A good place to stand

And work together
Come on, come on
Let's work together
Now, now people
Because together we will stand
Every boy, girl, woman and man
Ah, yeah

Well now, together we will stand
Every boy, girl, woman and man
Ah, yeah

The lyrics to this song are completely outdated here in the 21st century. At least in the United States.
Saw em on New Years Eve 1968 with a little Orange Sunshine at the Shrine Auditorium in LA. Bob Hite rode in on a pink elefant and I thought - It's a good thing I'm hallucinating!
1970.
One.  Human.  Family

A sentiment which should be more widely shared.
Timeless blues brilliance. More Canned Heat please.
Thanks for playing the classic gem.  The message still resonates, and man oh man, we could sure use some workin' together right now....
great song for the right moment, thanks.
From 8 to 10~that's how badly this song was so unknowingly needed right now!

This or some version (Levon Helm?) is the theme music for an Amazon spot I see on the CNN website. I like the music but the spot is always in my face.

somebody stop the madness. no more selling good songs to commercials.

absolutely agree. all of our associations with these songs are ruined by the commercials. sadly, there are those who only know the music via those commercial associations.
Canned heat should get more airplay, they have so many nice songs :)

Canned heat had two vocalists, Al Wilson and Robert "Bear" Hite. The Bear sang lead on Let's Work Together.
Makes me think of \"Forrest Gump\". Still a great song.
Whoa!! Haven\'t heard this in DECADES!! All together now, let\'s all go back to Woodstock (the first one).

I was just asking myself the same question... Does anyone know? Would be amazing if that was the same guy.
