The two off the top of my head are Brexit and the near destruction of the National Health System. This won't remedy Brexit, but you don't say someone totally fucked things up but I'm going to continue to vote for them anyway.
Well, you donât say that in the UK, maybe. But USA! USA! USA!
Why? What was Tory destruction and why will this remedy it? I seriously donât try to follow that place since I donât even understand USA politics.

Explain Like I'm 5 (years old) was derived from the subreddit r/explainlikeimfive. This subreddit was created by a Reddit user, boss galaga back in September 2011. The term “ELI5” was integrated into the Urban Dictionary a month after. The phrase went on to become one of Reddit's most popular boards.
? Yep. I was asking someone to explain the British election like I’m 5
Oh, thought that you were asking about the term, not the election.
I would like to hear it explained as well, fwiw. The whole thing is hard to understand.

Can someone ELI5? I don’t have context. Is this good or bad? Their terms don’t always match up with ours, so making assumptions seems a bad move.

The tories were a disaster from my perspective. An incredibly inept disaster.
Saw a funny comment about the possibility of replacing a presidential candidate so close to the convention where a Brit pointed out that that is longer than Liz Truss' entire time as Prime Minister. Ok, she lasted 50 days by the time she officially stepped down. She wasn't expected to last longer than head of lettuce and a tabloid live streamed her picture next to a head of iceberg until her resignation. The lettuce won.

This week a country experiencing a catastrophic decline in living standards announced it was going to increase spending on its military to a record 2.5% of its GDP.
That same country, days earlier, announced that it was going to remove some forms of state support for people too disabled to work, calling them workshy, implying their disability was a choice.
A country in which poverty is rising at its fastest rate in decades, in which the gap between the rich and the poor would shame a kleptocracy, in which millions rely on emergency food aid every week. This country decided missiles and fighter jets are the priority.
This country identified disabled people as the enemy within.
This country is Britain.
Iâm not going to overstate the depths of Britainâs social, economic and spiritual breakdown with rhetorical flourishes.
