Ten years after the start of the war, it's now very clear that Cheney was the wizard behind the curtain, and lied, deceived, and twisted the truth in order to get us into a war in Iraq.

Here is a moving letter from a dying veteran

The Terrifying Background of the Man Who Ran a CIA Assassination Unit

by Conor Friedersdorf
The Atlantic
July 18, 2012

It was one of the biggest secrets of the post-9/11 era: soon after the attacks, President Bush gave the CIA permission to create a top secret assassination unit to find and kill Al Qaeda operatives. The program was kept from Congress for seven years. And when Leon Panetta told legislators about it in 2009, he revealed that the CIA had hired the private security firm Blackwater to help run it. "The move was historic," says Evan Wright, the two-time National Magazine Award-winning journalist who wrote Generation Kill. "It seems to have marked the first time the U.S. government outsourced a covert assassination service to private enterprise."...

You sure sound like you hate Obama, I don't know what else I would call the venom in your tone.

I always wonder why all of a sudden you woke up to corruption in government when Obama got elected. IMO the shit really started to hit the fan with Reagan, and it's been the players on the right that have been disseminating this country bite by bite. I never hear you say a word about Boehner, Turtle Man, or any of the game players on the other side.

Did you understand the word and its use ?  That's all I care about.  Play grammar cop, I don't care.

I am on record here for years calling out things done by Bush.  I called him the most socialist POTUS since FDR more than a couple of times and cited my reasons for it as well.  I objected to the Patriot Act and TARP as well and still do.  TARP is owned by Bush, although Obama voted for it.  I objected here when McCain voted for it, too.  That was the proof to me about who McCain really was.  It also revealed some insight on Obama for the same reasons.  I would vote out my Congressman, Latourette, but he voted against TARP.  That means something to me.

I wanted the house to burn down and cause Wall Street and its crooks to take a bath and lose their money and power.  We would have been no worse off than we are now.  And IMO, we would well be on the way to recovery by now if the house had burned down.

I look at both sides.  You clearly only find problems with Repubs.  You have NEVER called out any Dem's by name and attached a policy that you object to with the name.

You have mentioned on occasion that Obama doesn't always make you happy, but you NEVER say exactly why.

But then again, you are only here for fun.  So have fun, its FRIDAY !!!  Get down, dammit !!!!!

Its a Cleveland thing ...

How about that I strongly object and oppose the Leaders of the Game and the Game itself ?  Yes its a game.  We can agree on that.  But the Game has leaders.  Don't forget that part.

Yep, this bill was written by lobbyists and was just sitting on the shelf for the special occasion that finally came around.

And I must agree, it probably was the most homest thimg Pelosi has ever said.

No, but maybe you're looking at it from the wrong angle. That quote from Pelosi was probably the most honest thing she has ever stated. Not only couldn't just one person explain the bill, but even 12 couldn't have explained 12 individual sections of it. The reason is that no one in Congress wrote it! Supposedly "neutral" think tanks, lobbyists, and others with an interest in whatever issue is being addressed write these bills and submit them to those they have given campaign money to. Conflict of interest? Of course. The fact that Pelosi admitted that no one including herself could explain the law and would have to wait and see was most likely a slip of the tongue. This arrangement will unfortunately continue because we have allowed it to become the modus operandi. Our politicians don't even have to problem solve anymore, because we don't require them to. They just need to look presentable and ask for more money. After they've done this, they just have to pretend they are hooking up their constituents. The partisan crowd will eagerly slurp up the bait, hook, line, and sinker.

I think both decisions are bad.  I just posed the question.  Was wondering if there was an irony.  The court has been condemned by all sides for different reasons.  Its now being lauded by the left for its ACA decision and to a lessor extent, its ruling on Arizona's SB1070.

The point is that bad law is being written.  These laws are so poorly considered that they are guarenteed to end up in the SCOTUS.  Perhaps we should start writing simple laws again that are straight forward and honest.

Have we learned the lesson of we have to pass it to find out what is in it ?

Sadly, I doubt it.
