It is also sad at the same time as it reveals the shallow efforts people make to verify anything and the ease of the use of pure hate in public.
When I was doing it, I wanted it to look real at first glance, and some parts of it do look like a hack graffiti job, but other parts are clearly not, once you look closely. I thought about making it look 100% perfect but I'm a bad troll and don't want anyone to really get fooled. So anyway, yeah... people fool themselves pretty easily.
One guy on 9gag was all put out that I didn't use the "NO" meme completely missing the Trump/Grump connection. The pure hate part is pretty weird, yeah. One woman who lives here posted on my original FB post that the only people who don't like Trump are illegals or living off the system. She's a government employee so... make of that what you will.
So, no real fallout from this episode. It was pretty hot on reddit for a while, with it being marked as photoshop pretty early on but people still got in a snit about vandalism. Also a lot of less-amusing comments from the white wing nutjobs.
333 334 facebook shares, way more viral than anything I've done but way less viral than any picture of a cat+joke that you see.
but the most interesting thing to me is that I got a dozen friend requests. Not from shifty ID thief types, but from normal people that I have no other connection to. Yes, mostly older but not retirees and not all of them tech-unsavvy. Most of them right out of the middle of America, couple hundred fb friends, not just reposting jokes... weird, really. I thought about running one of those "six degrees" apps to figure out if I might actually know them (like from here but that I only know their screen name) maybe, but haven't yet. I've added some people as friends that I don't know but there's a mutual friend connection, or a few who I've actually had a conversation with (on someone else's post) and friended, just like here. But no overlap in friends or discussion... does that mean a dozen people just clicked the wrong button? Probably.
This is too much. Nice job !
I have no problem with Trump and I have no problem with what you did either cuz I enjoy a good laugh. Even if it was real, it wouldn't get my undies in a bunch. This stuff just comes with the territory and people need to thicken their skin for their own good.
I've never been to Reddit before or any of these type of sites although I have heard of it. I saw one guy say that he lives only 4 hours from there and is going to go to take a selfie with it in the background. It is also sad at the same time as it reveals the shallow efforts people make to verify anything and the ease of the use of pure hate in public.
One of the lessons I learned early on here was to verify as much as possible before posting, cuz iffen I got something wrong, it would be pointed out muy rapido. So thanks RP for that, seriously.
Now if you can somehow get Snopes to weigh in, you'll have made the big time.
Oh and yes I would buy a T Shirt, too. Just please put it on the back of the shirt instead of the front, surfer style.

I did my best but only got one friend to re-share it. Congrats on redit.
The answer is yes, since I just photoshopped a thing and left it on facebook for people to froth over. I feel kinda bad tho, when some friends and other nice people get taken in.
But someone shared it and got one of her friends' knickers in a twist, and he wrote back:
I'm not saying everything he is doing is great but he is very smart man and have very strong feelings he will make America a great peacefully place to live he gonna get everybody out of are country that don't belong we will be in great hands
Thereby shining a light on the problem better than any editorials can.

Trolled: Shawn Porter · Most people that don't like him are illegal or live off the system
I'll stop now. News Flash: People get weird, fast.
edit: Bobby's not letting go, even after my sister told him it was shopped:
Bobby Chitwood · 3 mutual friends
Destruction of property... No matter how you swing politically... I catch someone touching my property they get shot, then I call the cops
Eddie HuffmanI think we can all agree that maiming or killing someone is an appropriate reaction to petty vandalism
Laurie LarsenUh, this was photoshopped. Calm down.
Bobby Chitwood ·Eddie… absolutely is. Everybody has their own way. Night time at my property, you get caught screwing with it, I'm not going to wait to see what weapons you may or may not have. I'm going back to my family without question. Make your choices, live with those choices.
Bobby Chitwood · Eddie Huffman Why I live in WY, and you live in NC.
I've been off the internet for a good portion of this week and just caught this over there. This is all becoming just a bit disturbing. I'll buy a shirt if you make them though.
As I was working on it, trying to think of a slogan I could type over The Donald's, it occurred to me that Grumpy Cat and Trump might actually be the same organism. Anything I had Grumpy Cat say really sounded like a Trump sound bite...
You've done it now. You've put the right-wing / conservative / Republican whathaveyou fans of Grumpy Cat in a conundrum! Do they support Grumpy Cat, or do they support The Hair ?
