My Favourites Mix related. Anyone want to replay something having just heard it? It happens to me fairly regularly and so I go to Spotify to hear it again. Be good if I could stay on RP insteaad - asked already, difficult to do, easy to do even?
My understanding is that it's not allowed under the "radio" license. If you were able to specify a song to play, that sort of on-demand streaming requires a theoretically more expensive license. But Spotify et al pay next to nothing so maybe it's worth looking into...

A few weeks ago I entered URLs for various RP channels into a list for the VLC app on my NVIDIA Shield (an Android based streaming device sorta like Roku) and I was in... Paradise!
After being too busy for some weeks I got around to listening again today, and I'm sorry to report that although I can connect to any of the Mix channels it now appears that I lose audio at the end of a song? the VLC app seems to think it's still connected and updates the track timer and artist info, but no audio. If I switch to another RP channel and then immediately back to the channel I was listening to I recover the audio until the end of the current song, then lose it again. Have so far seen this on the Rock and Mellow Mix channels, but did not (yet?) notice it on Radio2050. I'll see if I can find mention of such VLC behavior online as this could be a bug of theirs.
I know, this is a weird one... >-/ (and I'm only filing it under Bug Reports because I don't know a more appropriate category - I don't assume the problem is at RP's end) I'll see if I can find mention of such VLC misbehavior online as this could be a bug of theirs.

The flac + metadata links will not work in VLC. You'll get a terrible glitch at each song transition.
Summary: Several of the FLAC+metadata links/streams are dead
For example Rock Mix - http://stream.radioparadise.co... I normally use moOde and noticed it several days ago. I've also confirmed it on different browsers, but haven't tried it from a different location.

Have seen some issues with vlc come and go depending on version.
You can try different bitrates. And streams with and without metadata. Also urls starting with http vs https

We haven't had localized links like that for ages. If you're still using one, you probably shouldn't. Our system will connect you with the closest and/or best option.
IP Multicast is really a private-network thing. It's never proved to be very practical on the public Internet. Nor is peer-to-peer streaming, really. It can work, but not terribly reliably — and bandwidth costs these days are only a small fraction of what they once were.
No options other than picking streams on Android Automotive in Polestar 3.
Hello all, I stumbled across RP on the app store in my car. The Polestar has Android Automotive so I'm not using Android Auto. There are no settings to adjust bandwidth? I'd like to crank it up to 11 since the car has the B&W audio setup. We have Tidal with Atmos mixed songs (no complaints) and some folks enjoy the lossless Apple Music by switching to Car Play but that's about it when it comes to Very High bit rate streaming. But no joy. No way to sign in, nothing to do but pick streams and skip ahead. I cant help but think RP could become a Big Fish in the admittedly small pond of Volvo and Polestar owners. Any help would be appreciated or maybe just consider this a feature request. I'll happy evangelize RP on the Polestar Forums either way.
Stumbled excitedly, btw! I used to listen to Radio Paradise in the early heady days of Internet Radio at the turn of the century. RP pretty much got me through the early 2000's when I had an editing gig that was WFH before WFH was cool. I'd sadly misplaced the memory of those good times. I'll happily chip in / donate / support RP and again, I'm happy to pass along my positive experience with other Polestar owners.

We'll look into getting that enabled for the Google backed stores. At the moment the settings section is hidden due to us not supporting their account management.
There has been a lot of stability issues with the car stuff as it's difficult to test and very fragmented. So it moves pretty slowly.

On mine, I don't even get the extra buttons. When I replied to this I get the "B|I|link|smiley" buttons, but nothing else. Strikethrough, html and whatever else should be there simply aren't there. The buttons I do have are persistent with scrolling and changing tabs, but never more than the 4. Chrome/Windows.
Edit to add: same thing on chome/android. Edit, reply, and new post all the same.
That's probably a known bug where if you leave a posting window open long enough, those tools disappear. Especially if you've been furiously typing and cutting/pasting from other sites. So you just have to post, then edit that post to finish your thoughts/clean things up.
So this is ongoing apparently. When I reply or create a new post. I don't have anything other than 'bold', 'italic', 'link', and 'smiley' buttons. No HTML '< >' or anything else. Chrome, Windows, male, 56, cream no sugar...
That's maybe a different problem then. I lose all of that row of buttons.
I know I read somewhere that the site is getting a new improved rebuild (are the journals coming back?)
So this is probably not worth fixing at this point and you probably know about it already, but if you're making a post and get distracted, go away for a while, visit other websites and come back, the row of buttons is often missing: <>, ¶, B, I, S etc.
The way to not lose progress is to submit the post and then immediately edit it. This IME happens most often with longer posts, especially replies and quotes with links and images etc. As a test, I left this post open for an hour before submitting, and the tools are all there. Maybe they go away if you scroll them off the screen and then scroll back to the top.

Yes, that was it, the tools instantly disappeared when I scrolled them off the screen, switched to another browser window for a second, and then came back.
