He's recently gotten into LP's as well as realizing that he's an Atheist, and that he's interested in the 60's counter culture, and that in general, he's not really in agreement with much that his parents believe....

For Christmas, he asked for a record player and some LP's including Joni Mitchell's Ladies of the Canyon.

Last week, in session, he asked about the song Woodstock, and what she meant by "we are stardust/golden" when the song was really about Woodstock.... we talked at length about the Big Bang, and Woodstock being a place where young people were able to come together to celebrate togetherness etc. He then asked why the song was so sad-sounding and we talked about how Joni was unable to go to WS and that she was very sad about it. I then asked him if he'd heard CSNY's Woodstock, that they'd been able to be there, and reinterpreted the song based on THEIR experience.

He Hadn't.

So, we searched youtube, and found an LP recording of CSNY's version, and we played it.

Honestly, I had tears in my eyes watching him.

I know that you guys who have kids have done this. It was an experience to be able to do it, with a kid.
