I read back a little, I like rolo's idea of a thread creator having the ability to remove disagreeable posts. I go one step further and allow the thread owner to exclude post from an individual completely.

Ahem. I came here because hobbitt was playing RP in our office. I liked it. A lot.

I've already gotten more out of being here than I could have ever imagined.

Seriously. I mean, I've met buzz. I believe I've hugged him a time or two.

I can't really ask for anything more.

So even though it's gotten ugly on more than one occasion in the past eleven years or so, I'll be sticking around. Lots of my friends are here.

Honestly, I wish I could figure it out.  I'm just not bright enough, I guess.  Ignoring hasn't worked for me.  Confrontation/castigation seems to make it even less pleasant, so that's right out.  Moderation ain't gonna happen, but I don't think that would be much of a solution, either.  Personally, I'm left with retreat.  I just don't pop in as much as I used to - it's just post 'n' run.

I still think it is a numbers game. As I stated in one of my earlier posts, we're not going to get rid of the handful of strident voices.  And, even if we do, others will replace them.  That is a constant, and pretty much has been in my memory of my time here.   

Otherwise, we might as well all leave.
