The Anti Atom movement in Germany startet 1972 in south west Germany, when the Club of Rome planed nuclear reactors and lead chemical plant in the area "Kaiserstuhl", between Freiburg im Br, and Markolsheim in France. It became a massive movement accross the border between France and Germany, which is the Rhein. The winegrowers could not ignore this plan. My own Father, who died last month, was a main actrivist and singer songwriter in this movement. He was a real local hero, because the planed reactor in Whyl never was built. The movement succeded, in a hard dispute. The nucler oppenents used a pirate radio, which broadcasted across the French-German-Swiss borders. Here are the major developments in the aftermath and investigation of the Germanwings crash in the French Alps that killed 150 people.

• Co-pilot Andreas Lubitz drove the plane into the “fatal descent” that preceded the crash, a French prosecutor and the Lufthansa chief said, adding that Lubitz had locked the captain out of the cockpit. “It was a voluntary action,” said the prosecutor, Brice Robin. The intention was “to destroy the aircraft”, he said.

• Lubitz deployed a five-minute override when captain Patrick Sonderheimer tried to re-enter the cockpit after briefly leaving, thwarting Sonderheimer’s attempt to punch in an emergency number that would open the door.

• At least four airliners, including easyJet and Norwegian Air Shuttle, announced they would adopt new cockpit rules. Unlike many US carriers, European companies generally do not require two people in the cockpit at all times. Lufthansa does not voluntarily implement such a protocol.

• Twenty-seven-year-old Andreas Lubitz, a German who had been flying for the company since September 2013, was qualified, trusted and showed no signs of physical or psychological distress before the crash, Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr said. “You can never exclude such an individual event,” he said. “No system in the world could manage to do that.”

• Lufthansa revealed that Lubitz’s training in 2009 had been briefly interrupted, but was resumed after “his suitability as a candidate was re-established”. Asked about the reason for the interruption, Spohr said he was not allowed to say.

• Spohr said the company was in complete shock. It was “beyond our worst nightmare”, he said. “It leaves us absolutely speechless. I would not have been able to imagine that the situation would have got even worse.” (...)

In response to the Fukushima meltdown—which did $50 billion in damage to Japan’s economy—Germany aims to close all its reactors by 2022.

Germany, the world’s most aggressive adopter of renewable energy, is taking a bold leap toward a future free from nuclear energy. In March, the German government announced a program to invest 200 billion euros, or approximately $270 billion, in renewables. That’s 8 percent of the country’s GDP, according to the DIW Economic Institute in Berlin.

Last year, in response to the disaster at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, Chancellor Angela Merkel announced a plan to close down all 17 of Germany’s nuclear reactors and replace them with renewable energy, mostly solar and wind power.

Germany has already closed eight nuclear reactors, and the rest will be shut down by 2022. For now, natural gas is filling the void left by nuclear power, which formerly produced 20 percent of the country’s electricity. Under Merkel’s plan, 80 percent of Germany’s energy will come from renewables by 2050, according to the German Advisory Council on the Environment. Studies by the council show that 100 percent renewable power is a realistic goal for Germany.

In contrast, the United States has been much less ambitious. The president’s “New Energy for America” plan aims to supply the country with 25 percent renewable energy by 2025...

Ich, als gebürtiger Düsseldorfer, kann wie gesagt mit Altbier nicht sooo viel anfangen, aber naja, ab und zu sage ich auch nicht nein zu ´nem Alt, genau wie zu ´nem Kölsch.

Es gibt halt zu viel gutes Bier in Deutschland :)
( so ein ASTRA wäre auch nicht falsch )

RP fand ich vor einigen Jahren per Shoutcast.com ( damals sah die Seite noch nicht so schrecklich nach Web 2.0 aus wie heute ) als ich einen Sender suchte, der R.E.M. spielte.
Wie es der Zufall wollte, war es just in dem Moment RP. Und der Rest verlief dann wie vielen anderen Hörern...eingeschaltet, in die Favoriten gelegt und annähernd täglich eingeschaltet.
Mal nur für 20 Minuten oder an anderen Tagen bis zu 10 Stunden im Büro ( mein Kollege bettelt schon immer, dass ich gefälligst "diesen Paradissender" einschalten soll ).

Hab mir extra einen Webstick i.V.m. einem Netbook und 2 Boxen besorgt, damit ich auch im Büro Webradio hören kann. Über UKW gibt es hier nur noch WDR2 als erträgliche Alternative...aber natürlich nur was die Wortbeiträge angeht.
Neben RP läuft dort eigentlich nur SomaFM, wenn ich mal meine elektronischen Gelüste befriedigen muss.  

Na ja. das mit dem Kotzstritzer ist ja nun auch noch entwicklungsfähig. Ich stamme aus Köln...muß hier wohl nicht noch mehr ausführen...
Schön das Ihr Euch zeigt. lebe seit einiger zeit in Schwerin und brauche Kontakte zur Außenwelt. RP war da schon genau der erste Volltreffer !
Wie habt Ihr RP entdeckt ?

Auch wenn ich es nicht so mit Bier habe, ziehe ich ein kühles Schwarzbier ( Köstrizer usw. ) dem rheinischen Gebräu vor...

Denke gerade darüber nach wieso hier im deutschen Forum eigentlich so gar nichts läuft...dabei sind hier reichlich addicts registriert, jedenfalls deutlich mehr als in Frankreich oder sogar in England...trotzdem ist dort jeweils mehr los. Woran liegts also ? Ideen ? Also doch in Englisch in den anderen Foren mitstottern...vielleicht auch besser, da lernt man dann eben was...

Der Sender mit seinen vier ausgeruhten Missionaren auf zwei und vier Beinen ist ein wahrer Glücksfall - ich werde darüber reden und reden, damit möglchst viele andere in kennenlernen - denn Letzteres genügt schon - jeder der hier zuhört bleibt dran.

Congratulations Germany.  You were aiming for the soccer world cup but instead you got Eurovision  

At least you can afford to host next year.  It wasn't quite NUL points for the UK but we did manage a pretty impressive feat getting last place.  That really is saying something in Eurovision speak.

ich bin leider erst jetzt auf diesen tollen Sender gestoßen. Höre ab sofort - wenn die Zeit es erlaubt - ständig zu und bin beeindruckt
über die Vielfältigkeit und Qualität der Musikauswahl.  Ich bleibe dran und genieße weiter......

Ich habe mal mitgelesen, wie Ihr Euch über Freiheit im Allgemeinen und Meinungsfreiheit im Besonderen ausgetauscht habt. Sieht so aus, als ob nicht nur ich froh bin, in Europa zu leben. Nicht, dass ich mich als Amerika-Feind betrachte, auf keinen Fall! Differenzieren ist immer das Entscheidende.

Aber für den grassierenden Grössenwahn in den USA, den religiösen Wahnsinn bis in die höchsten Ämter, und manch andere 'Spezialität', bin ich doch zu europäisch.

Kann jetzt ganz viel RP hören, da ich mit einer fetten Erkältung zwischen Bett und PC am hin und her wandern bin...
mein absoluter Lieblingssender...spricht total meine Frequenzen an...freue mich auch schon wieder auf die nächsten Sonnenstrahlen, die ich mit Genuss aufnehmen werde...
