Anyone watching either of the new political dramas, Newsroom very preachy hbo show written by Aaron sorkin, or Political Animals, with sigourney weaver?

Now that I am over the shock, I am enjoying the humor. I thought the show with Richard Mazur was hilarious. I am amazed at the way the writer/star puts herself out there, so vulnerable. And the way she sticks with that asshole of a bf. Fom listening to my daughter and her friends, I find it sad that otherwise smart funny girls end up with jerks like this.

A friend of ours is a cameraman on that show. He used to post a lot of insights etc. but now that it's so popular they don't want any spoilers getting out.

Almost by accident we've started watching 30 Rock reruns on WGN.  That's some funny shit right there.

Big Bang Theory was fun last night, too.

Two new shows on HBO:
Veep: Do they really swear that much in the West Wing? And jeez, they talk so fast!

and

Girls: This show makes Carrie & Friends look like nuns. Makes me a little uncomfortable, is that because I'm old???

First episode of the final season of Eureka is starting up in a few moments.

Watched the second episode of Sherlock on Friday ("The Blind Doctor").  Lots of fun, and I thought it was good that they gave Dr. Watson a love/sex interest.  Most other tv and movie versions his character is so focused on being a foil to Holmes, this should give him some depth and make him less two-dimensional if they pursue it.

The Voice has us riveted for a second season.

Also Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Chopped All-Stars, Nurse Jackie, and I have recently fallen in love with reruns of Tabitha Takes Over.

Mad Men: excellent, as usual.

Game of Thrones: we actually subscribed to HBO so we could watch this, and we have not been disappointed.

The Good Wife: I love Juliana Margulies

I liked the detail that 'Watson' was an an army doctor injured in Afghanistan. The original Watson was also an army doctor.

BTW, Are you watching the Brit version with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman or an American remake?

British version.  I presume like Downton Abbey it gets aired in the UK first and then we get to see it several months later.

PBS TV producers on this side of the Atlantic seem to have the sense not to try and "remake" shows that are well made to begin with.

Not really "New" exactly but caught the premiere episode of the modernized "Sherlock" on Masterpiece Mystery (the episode was called "A Study in Pink").

I was prepared to be disappointed or underwhelmed with the idea of setting Holmes in the 21st century, but it was a well done and enjoyable show.  I look forward to the next one.
