He could pick George Wallace (if he was still alive) and not lose a vote.
That is how strong the hate for Trump is.
Well, it's not just hate - though there is plenty of that for Trump. Most of the people who will vote against him just don't want him to be the President anymore.
The pertinent inquiry would be into the reasons for the âhate.â My guess is Kurtster and other Trump supporters prefer to see the âhateâ for Trump as irrational and inexplicable, an emotional rote response devoid of reason. As you say, there are reasons people are so stridently opposed to him, reasons people believe it critical that he not be re-elected.

He is in the very odd position of very possibly picking President #47. He has to pick the person who he feels is best suited to run the place if he can't...regardless of sex, race, age, anything.
It's very possible that the shuttering of the US, and by default his campaign, has allowed him to relax a bit mentally. Now that he's had his foot off the gas for so long, there is a real question if someone in their late 70's can turn it back on again. If he picks a VP who people are comfortable with, he can get over the finish line. If he picks someone who raises doubts and follows that with poor showings in debates or makes some significant blunders....things could get closer.
More Americans realize every day that Trump is the worst answer possible. If he ever loses the white men 40-65 without a college degree demo...he'll have lost everyone. I would guess 60% of Americans would prefer to spin a wheel for the next President than to repeat the last 4 years.
I'm ready for 2020 to be over already. The first half has totally sucked...and now we have to deal with a Presidential election.
Interesting. I'd say the same of both candidates right now. We are very possibly voting for the person who will pick the next president. Has Trump officially selected Pence? I think he been sufficiently sycophantic (band name, also on the worst baskin robins flavors list).

That's true. Most of the country didn't want him to begin with, and he's done an insignificant amount of improvement to change people's minds.
And, I'd hope he'd pick George Wallace! He's hysterical! I saw him interviewed by Patton Oswalt before the plague and it was lots of fun.
I spent some time down in Pensacola and even got married there my first time. I traveled back and forth between there and Gulf Shores, Ala (Kenny Stabler country) a lot. I still remember the "Welcome To Alabama, George Wallace Governor" sign at the border. It was quite clear that the sign had taken some direct hits by a shot gun blast or two or three. He was a good democrat, too ... until he wasn't ...
Curious: he has been known to be prone to verbal âgaffesâ throughout his career. Do you believe there is evidence of a recent cognitive impairment due perhaps to his age?
My 2 cents....yes.
Part of the issue (IMO) is that he is considering alternatives, options and impact in a response. The older you get, the harder it is. Pelosi is also slower, but that doesn't make the answers any more or less accurate/appropriate. Impairment in the presentation doesn't correlate necessarily to poor decision making. It would be really nice if Joe were 10 years younger....but that's not where we are.
Trump just blurts out the same rhetoric regardless of the question, so it's easy to appear quick. He doesn't consider anything. On a debate stage, I think Joe will be fine. Any "slowness" he has will be more than overshadowed by DJT not answering questions, taking credit, and not taking responsibility. Trump only answers questions now that include his accomplishment in the asking. "When you enacted the ban on travel" or "when you approved the financial stimulus....". If you start a question with "how" or "why"....he can't or won't answer.
The fact that the age of the 2 candidates is over 150 is bad for the country. Obama isn't yet 60, and has been out of office for 3.5 years after serving 8. We're going the wrong way.

i don;t watch a lot of political stuff
the level of difficulty is tiring, especially for an old guy like me, who happens to be somewhat busy

that said it does appear that sadly biden may have some cognitive issues
this isn't to mock him, his decades long record has plenty material for that
watching some of his interactions brings back some personal memories of dealing with someone in decline
could be some bias on my part, however i question the dems and why we couldn't have put forward a better candidate
there are better centrist candidates out there (i thought booker, bennet, etc.)
just looking at this from my perch he needs a solid vp candidate
preferably the best one available regardless
just cogitating a bit

He obviously misspoke. Said 120 million instead of 120,000. It happens. Not a big deal unless we are to believe that he did not misspeak and actually believes 120 million have died. I do not believe that to be the case. I also did not believe that Obama thought there were 57 states in the union.
Right now you have a choice:
Do you want a president who misspeaks/makes gaffes? Or one who literally can't stop lying and is the Master Chef of word salads?
Well, the Biden/Trump choice is easy. It's just that I wanted someone else. I want a bright, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, erudite, humanistic person in charge of the country, moving the complex pieces around while considering the money, people, nations involved in the multifactorial equation. (And gender/race isn't something I vote by. That's literally sexist/racist.)
But, anyway, Warren didn't make it this far, so I'll just have to make do. The choice is still easy.
