I think this is just setting up for a denoument that will come later on. This series appears to be pacing itself with a good overall seasonal story arc. I think the cheerios wear their uniforms each episode because they have been so far, to the glee club kids and us viewers, two dimensional characters. They are almost purely representational, not whole beings. The more I examine the writing and the editing the greater the appreciation I have for what's going on.

I just saw Jane Lynch brilliantly cast in Julie & Julia. Wow, that woman gets a lot of work...
I just saw in in Collateral Damage today. That was certainly a different role for her.

But over the last two episodes there have been some things that have drawn me back, including Jane Lynch's performance as the dreanged cheerleading coach. She is absolutely brilliant. I always loved her in Chris Guest's films, particularly Best In Show. Also, the sly planting of one or two outrageous double entendres in each episode. If you're not paying attention they'll whip right by. The writing on this show is so subversive. I bet most of the people watching are High School Musical/Mama Mia fan types, and yet this show is basically ripping the pretty teen pageant face off that world and exposing it for what it is. I think I'll probably keep watching, but the signing and dancing are the least of it for me.

I'm watching it... picked it up last season when they previewed it and just caught ep. 3 this morning over eggs. I'm liking it so far, but waiting to see where it goes. It has potential... to be great or crash and burn. It reminds me a lot of the WB's Popular from a few years back plus songs. Sheer brilliance that got canceled after 2 seasons. I love the Accafellas.
