I know... some people have the most amazing ability to f**** up even the simplest message.

"If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee."
~ Revelation 3:2"No reason to get excited," the thief he kindly spoke, "There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke. "But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate "So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late."

samiyam wrote: If only I could follow this scripture without giving my puzzler a painful headache.
Let's use a more modern rendering, with added comments (mine). 20 But on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, he answered them and said: “The kingdom of God is not coming with striking observableness, 21 neither will people be saying, ‘See here!’ or, ‘There!’ For, look! the kingdom of God is in YOUR midst.” - Comment: If they could not see the Kingdom of God while it (Meaning himself - Jesus as the King of the Kingdom) was in their midst - right there in front of their very eyes, then none of them would be likely to see it later either. 22 Then he said to the disciples: “Days will come when YOU will desire to see one of the days of the Son of man but YOU will not see . Comment: Because he was shortly to die. 23 And people will say to YOU, ‘See there!’ or, ‘See here!’ Do not go out or chase after . Comment: Because they know who Jesus really is, they should not fall foul of false prophets.
24 For even as the lightning, by its flashing, shines from one part under heaven to another part under heaven, so the Son of man will be. Comment: When he returns as the King, he will be as visible as lightning to all those who know what to look for.
25 First, however, he must undergo many sufferings and be rejected by this generation. Comment: advising them by predicting his own death.

Are you tempted to recite poetry to me now? Again, I find that a little funny. I would offer up verse as response, but, alas, 'tis fair to you to allow your due. The poem is nice, and would look nice in the Poetry Forum.Of course, the Bible has much poetry in it also. Perhaps Biblical prose from your learned amalgamation of motives and delights could be produced to further clarify the subtle traces of sublime emptiness expressed by the writer of the above verse .

Torah portion of the week: The Parshah in a Nutshell Shoftim Deuteronomy 16:18-21:9 ![](http://www.chabad.org/images/global/spacer.gif) Moses instructs the people of Israel to appoint judges and law-enforcement officers in every city; " Justice, justice shall you pursue," he commands them, and you must administer it without corruption or favoritism. Crimes must be meticulously investigated and evidence thoroughly examined — a minimum of two credible witnesses is required for conviction and punishment. In every generation, says Moses, there will be those entrusted with the task of interpreting and applying the laws of the Torah. "According to the law that they will teach you, and the judgement they will instruct you, you shall do; you shall not turn away from the thing that they say to you, to the right nor to the left." Shoftim also includes the prohibitions against idolatry and sorcery; laws governing the appointment and behavior of a king; and guidelines for the creation of "cities of refuge" for the inadvertent murderer. Also set forth are many of the rules of war: the exemption from battle for one who has just built a home, planted a vineyard, married, or is "afraid and soft-hearted"; the requirement to offer terms of peace before attacking a city; the prohibition against wanton destruction of something of value, exemplified by the law that forbids to cut down a fruit tree when laying siege (in this context the Torah makes the famous statement "For man is a tree of the field"). The Parshah concludes with the law of Eglah Arufah - the special procedure to be followed when a person is killed by an unknown murderer and his body is found in a field - which underscores the responsibility of the community and its leaders not only for what they do but also for what they might have prevented from being done.

John 1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not
