my beloved kitty Natacia passed on sunday.  on thursday she wasn't doing well. i asked a cat whisper that i know to come by again.  she had said i should let her know when it was getting close and she would come back. she came. she asked permission to tell kitty that it was okay for her to leave her body.  i told her on sunday my family was throwing my mother a surprise 75th birthday party that i was supposed to bring my mother to.  she asked if she can tell kitty that it was okay for her to go when i was not there.  i said okay.  she said she had a feeling it might be then. sunday morning it seemed the cat whisperer was right.  kitty was moving much less than ever before.  she could barley get up.  but i had to go.  i laid with her and knew it was possible that i wouldn't be with her again.  i changed my mind.  i didn't want her to go while i was at the party.  I came back that evening after the party with my mother.  when i opened the door she was there, but she was gone.  she was still a little warm.  i think she might have waited until i walked into my building and let go.  i still had to go to the elevator, wait, then get off at my floor and open the door before i actually saw her.  she always knew when I was close.  in another apartment i lived in i shared a balcony with another neighbor.  while i was at work she used to crawl into his apartment through his open window and spend the day with him.  he said when it was close to the time i should get home she would suddenly get up and jump out the window and run home.  always he would hear me open my door about three minutes later.  she knew i was near and made sure she was always there to greet me.  if he didn't tell me she was over at his apartment i would not have known.  she was always there, right by the door as if she had been waiting all day there.  It always amazed me how she could sense these things.

Neighbors (and my mom, when I lived with her) reported her sensing my arrival about 5 minutes ahead of time. And it wasn't always the same time of day - just whenever I was nearing home. Bless these little beings that fill our lives with so much love and grace. May she rest in peace, and may you be surrounded with love and comfort in this time of loss. Thank goodness you two had each other these 19 years!
