I don't know the original but on its own terms it's ... ok. A bit too much vocal fry for my ears, but I quite like the farting bass.
It's as if someone gutted and cleaned the original song and then wrapped the empty carcass in shiny cellophane and tied it up in ribbons.
Awful butchering of the original. I wish I could un-hear it!
I admire the attempt but it slightly misses the "mark".

OK, coming back to finish the comment. Overall, I like it. I (like our host, William) am a sucker for a cover, especially if it is a song I like.
I'm NOT in the camp where a cover should sound like the original. I appreciate it when an artist puts their own into a song.
In summation, I don't hate it, and I don't love it. I'll continue to listen to this one whenever it comes around. I'll give it a low-to middle rating 4 now. <-see what I did there?
