Wow, I really enjoy the honesty in these lyrics. 

I was set back to the same feelings about wanting that one woman back... only the last line suggests that she is gone.  

From  "I want your mother" I understood: He wants her mothering side. 
Or maybe he wants her even with her mother.

I want your mother? I hope he's inviting Mom to stay with them, or maybe he's referring to how his love will grow old and become like her mother and that he will still want her then.
