Massachusetts raised us and we grew up right
In between the crashes of the high tide
It's only I don't know why I don't know you
I can't say why, I can't see you
This is not an apple or an angel town
Once you hit the big time you're west bound
It's only I don't know why I don't know you
I can't say why, I can't see you
On a broken sidewalk on the edge of town I
Will try to meet you, when the sun goes down
Sing a "hey la hey la" to the Holy Ghost
To the only constant on the radio
Out of reach from the cold and gray town
I turn the headlights and volume way down low.
So I can hear you on a constant radio
Give me daytime give me nighttime
Give me anger, you know I don't mind
Give me something to fill the time
If you give me your love then I give you mine
Give me your love, give me your love, give me…
Out of reach from the cold and gray town
I turn the headlights and volume way down low.
So I can hear you on a constant radio
In between the crashes of the high tide
It's only I don't know why I don't know you
I can't say why, I can't see you
This is not an apple or an angel town

Bluegrass from Boston ? Nice indeed. That's why I love New England.

Well, I guess this an example of how subjective music is and how different listeners take away different things.
I'm just baffled that you and 7 other people (at this writing) listened to this song and were reminded of Paul Simon. :-)

Used to live in Charlestown, across the street from the town limit sign for Somerville. Never understood why this intensely urban setting sprouted so many folk-music guitar strummers.
Quite the segue from Brown Eyed Women; almost like a continuation of the same song. I liked 'em both.

They ARE different. Unlike rock and roll.
Sounds like they play both kinds of music, Country and Western.

Good night, thanks RP

Yes.
I like this, but I think it might be mainly cos the voice reminds me of Tracy Chapman. Is that weird?
Yes.
Try to sing along to this. Tricky AF. Intricate.
Who are these guys? There's a whole Paul Simon thing here....
And my heart went ... boom boom boom 💥

If you're pressed for time, something off Matthew Sweet's Girlfriend album can fill in for the latter.

Give me Yoda.
I think they're saying, "It's always I don't know why." I'll be damned if Google will let me find the lyrics, though.
If you listen to RP long enough, as I have, these songs by artists I've never heard of become earworms and I have to turn them up before the third note has passed. And then I have to track down the albums. Curse you, RP! Thank you, RP!

Thanks for connecting me with new music. Classics are awesome, but growth is necessary or we become stagnant.
So appreciative that you played this song, Bill & Rebecca!
nice newer sound
Pretty Good!
Never heard this before... long live Radio Paradise!
Liking this more every time I hear it... This polished outfit seems to be a good cut above the typical brewpub bluegrass bands out there!
S'funny how Wednesday just comes around.

This song and others like it are the reason I listen to radio paradise. Songs you wouldn't find anywhere else.

I feel that people who like this add water to their milk because it's too bold.
Good guitarists tho.
New England bluegrass!
