I just love RP !

music played triggers the net research, only to find out a piece of history unknown to me,

"The band's name is a tribute to Joseph Broussard dit Beausoleil, the leader of the Acadian resistance to British deportation efforts beginning in 1755. Broussard led the attack against Dartmouth Nova Scotia, in what would become known as the "Dartmouth Massacre". Beausoleil was eventually captured, but following his imprisonment managed to lead 193 exiles to Louisiana before he died in 1765."

Thank You for the info!

I thought I was hearing Sade "Why Can't We Live Together"
Very distinctive bass solo!

It's sounds like the same (2-chord) chord progression (i - VII?), which is a pretty commonly-used progression, but it does not have the same melody.  Also, I'm reasonably sure that most of the listeners here are old enough to have heard the original song by Timmy Thomas.

It's not just the progression - it's the melody.

Awesome!!

Let's rumba!

Wow, that was freaking amazing just now. What diverse instrumentation!. Cajon/creole jazz at its foot tappin best. Michael Ducet is fantastic on that fiddle. And the bass solo digs into PF "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun."  I just had to come back and add to my comment that this right here is what keeps me listening to RP - the possibility of hearing something COMPLETELY different than I am used to hearing, and LOVING it!  This song was an instant 8 and now get's a 9 from me and so close to a 10 (if we did have 11s, this would be a 10 LOL) - LONG LIVE RP and LOVE PEACE HAPPINESS TRUTH & UNDERSTANDING!!

about a year later and damn if I had to throw my entire "rating" system out the window....this is a 10 cuz I like to hear it again and again!!  LLRP!!

...and a bit of Talking Heads 'Lady Don't Mind'..?
I was trying to figure out where this music came from geographically, thinking of some collaboration like salsa celtica or perhaps cuban and something out of Bretagne .. so its cajun.. makes sense.  Very nice.
Ah...the cajun bluegrass band with Michael Doucet (who is related to the 1970's rocker: Jerry Doucet).

I'm hearing more than a hint of R.E.M.'s Bang and Blame
Not familiar but pleasant on first listen.
Beausoleil! I am in awe of what Doucet dared to attempt and did accomplishhan. Love this.
Please, stop :(
That's some whiny, off-pitch violin playing.
Haven't heard them here before.  This band puts on a great live show - excellent musicians and lots of fun.
can´t stay sittig ,my bones are swinging...
