She turned me on to Hot Tuna back in the day. She'd swoon over Jorma's photo in the centerfold shot for Quah like some girls did for Elvis or the Beatles. We went to so many Tuna concerts back then. She passed away five years ago.  My eyes are watering up listening to this beautiful song. I miss her so.

Hmm, dont think they ever played Flamingo...must have been Aladdin in the 80s or Sam Boyd in the 90s.

A wedding song for many, a song of heartbreak for others. Beautiful just the same. I got to see Jorma in concert for the 60th time since the 70's on Wed. Jan. 13th at the Birchmere for an acoustic hour and 45 minute 17 song set to about 120 of us. What a live concert rarity during these Covid times. Fellow Hot Tuna veterans from back in the day recall the five hour marathon electric sets that lent to our tinnitus of today.  And yes, even now in this solo acoustic performance there was someone in the audience incessantly bellowing Jormaaaa! Hot Fuckin' Tunaaaa! and whistling aloud during his otherwise unfettered performance.  Jorma is 80 but looks forward to getting back on the road along with Jack once Covid restrictions ease.  Also has a new album titled The River Flows recorded with his ranch manager John Hurlbut.  I think you know how to look it up online.

This song is so haunting. Nostalgic for things that can barely even be named. Can someone please help me remember what film I saw where I first heard this? Or maybe I fabricated some memory? I just know that I love this and that it conjures up all sorts of feelings and I'm sure I rewound it several times (and researched the artist on my phone) while watching.... something...!! Help!

That's probably true, but as english isn't my native langage, I might be missing some of Stevens (had his name wrong by the way!) hmm..quirk? Quirkiness?!
