Called you time and time again
I've got no reply, you've gone
Reached the point of no return
The more I see the more I stand alone
I see the end of the line
Were you ever lonely?
Mystified and blue?
Realizing only your number's up
You're through
Done my share of winning
Now's my turn to lose
After a fair beginning
The game's up I'm through
Think I'll walk out in the storm
There's no love to keep me warm inside
And hope it's fine at the end of the line
Now is the time to take a dive
Try a magic carpet ride
Everything is wrong
You've gone
If you ever miss me
If I should cross your mind
You know where to find me
I'll be waiting at the end of the line
But until Bill grants my wish, you can check it out here.
Thank You for the info.

Just constant whining
You could just stop.

Alot of these album covers are works of art!

The vindaloo song.
In June 2011, Ferry was made a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours for his contribution to the British music industry, and in 2012 he was awarded the French national honour of Officier de l'ordre des Arts et des Lettres.[37] In 2014, Ferry was made an honorary Doctor of Music by Newcastle University.[38]

A long time ago, I read this about being a songwriter and musician-- "You have your entire life to write your first album, you have one year to write your second."
That second album is where a lot seem to run out of material, isn't it?
Kinda gives you a different perspective on artists such as The Rolling Stones, Carlos Santana, Bruce Springsteen, etc. Still rockin' after all these years.
Except that a songwriter/musician will likely have quite a number of songs in their catalogue, not just a first album's worth. They might put their "strongest" songs in the first album, though "strongest" is a pretty subjective measure.
I never understood why this band was so popular but after hearing this brilliant song I get it. I though the song and album Avalon was kind of numbing to be honest. Like most bands I guess you have to go back to the earliest stuff to really appreciate them. Having worked in a record store I made the observation that most bands have one or two great albums in them and start to sound uninspired after that. Not all but most. Thanks RP for opening up my musical tastes!

10 for me. Godlike
oh wow... I forgot about that. True! I have at least four Concrete Blonde Cd's. Geeeze I never play my CD collection since RP is always taking care of the soundwaves. (and teaching me new facts... I didn't know this was a RoxyMusic song. And I have a best of Bryan Ferry CD. Again... collecting dust. ... LONG LIVE RP! :)
Johnette has said she's a huge Brian Ferry/Roxy Music fan. CB even did a song called "Roxy" about them.
TONE
There's 6 guys in the wikipedia photo...

Jerry Hall, who took Ferry's edge with her when she left him for Jagger, is the siren on the cover.
I agree Jerry took Ferry's edge, but the direction he then pursued led to Avalon — one of my desert island selections. That made it all worthwhile.

I couldn't agree more if I tried. That being said...the "easy listening" phase is still better than most of today.
I remember seeing Roxy Music on the tour for the Avalon album. That was one great band.
Eric relates a funny story about those three in Clapton.
Love it.
More obscure cut holds up well after nearly 30 years! The power of RP to bring back to life those fogotten!
How about "nearly 40!!!"
Not enough Roxy played anywhere anymore.
Amen to that. Siren is their best release.

That's Jerry Hall on the cover, right?
Yep, a pre Mick Jagger Jerry hall
