What sort of pressure and what kind of force
must there have been to drive you here?
Was it uplifting or was it deformed?
Faulting and rifting, you folded.

What does it feel like to fall
in slow motion despite it all?
There's no time to think it through
when we're connected over the blue.

Everything is moving so fast.
I am unlimited.
Everything is moving so fast.
I am unlimited.

What sort of wisdom and what kind of thought
must here have been to scatter you?
So far and random, your heavenly bodies
still see the faint light in your eyes.

What does it feel like to fall
in slow motion despite it all?
There's no time to think it through
when we're connected over the blue.

Everything is moving so fast.
I am unlimited.
Everything is moving so fast.
I am unlimited.
Everything is moving so fast.
I am unlimited.
Everything is moving so fast.
I am unlimited.

Exactly how I heard it in Sunday School! 😄

Presumably the country is Iceland?
My personal "Mondegreen" is when I hear K D Lang sing "Constant craving", I hear "Cant stand gravy"

This one sounds like "I am a lunatic"
Lovely and mellow..

Just caught the mondegreen chuckles.  I laughed at those.  My memorable one (only since it got so much air time)  "Dirty Deeds, Done Dirt Cheap" as "Dirty Deeds, Thunder Chief".  For the longest time, I tried to figure out the INDIAN connection, 'til someone finally pointed out that there was none.  A former girlfriend lived with me for almost 2 years before she finally admitted her mondegreen was Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" She always heard "Hold me closer Tiny Dancer." as "Hold me closer Tony Danza".   I still get a chuckle every time I even think of that song.

Back in the day, a friend of mine interpreted that lyric as "Dirty Deeds, Thunder Cheese." Makes even less sense than "Thunder Chief." The mondegreen that I clung to for years was the opening line to the Grease song "You're the One that I Want," -- "I've got shoes, they're multiplying" Yes, I knew that made no sense.

Omg.  My older brother also sang "Thunder Chief" up until I corrected him a couple years ago.  Wow, I really thought it was only him.  Cheers!

My baby is the Queen of the Mondegreen! E.g. Creedence Clearwater Revival's "There's a bathroom on the right." (bad moon on the rise)

For years , when I heard Bob Seger sing "You always won..." in the song Still the Same, all I heard was "Walrus one...".

and there's the common mishear on Blinded by the Light ("wrapped like a douche" instead of the correct "revved up like a deuce")

That was a really fine segue.  The Byrd's "My Back Pages" (one of my very favorite trippy Dyalan songs) melded into Great Lake Swimmer's "Everything is Moving So Fast" so smoothly it seemed a continuation of "Back Pages".  Same beat, same key, or did my head do the match when I was momentarily distracted?

The Main Mix has become my close companion lately.  It's a lot more listenable (my tastes fed) than I remember it.  For lack of something a fraction this good, I'd fallen into the musical doldrums and seldom switched anything on.  Gotta say, I'm loving.  No joke, it's improved my mood.  Kudos.

I have to say that Cat Stevens and Peter Gabriel still make me reach for PSD.  And as much as I like some of the foreign language tunes I don't think I'll ever enjoy songs where I don't know what's being sung (except for good scat),  they make me wish I was pan-lingual.  I'd settle for bi-lingual, but the UC couldn't pull it off.

Checked the lyrics.

I love the sonic space supporting the terrific bass line on this recording, esp. in the 1st couple of bars.  I don't know if there is a "proper" way to describe that, musically.

And, to pull this subject back onto the music - I love this song because of the haunting vocals. This, like Fever Ray, haunts my dreams. I don't know about that, Cynaera. I thought you just told us yet another stellar, little anecdote about a time in your life, spurred somehow by the music you've heard and we all are sharing here (RP). I'm a Torontonian myself, at least since '75, and I love to visit Montreal. So, it does my heart some good to hear your kind words re: my fellow Canadians, and that you found solace here when needed. All good stuff. We can never have too much of that! There are, after all, bastards lurking everywhere, most often, only if we give them reason to be.

And as for this song...never heard it before. Love it! The harmonies grabbed me. Go figure, I have to listen to an American internet radio station to discover a song by a group from my own back yard (so to speak). Gimme more, Bill!
