The rating is a little harsh but Elvis does sound like he's gonna pop a vein any second.
Well, me oh my. First time I've heard this track. Drummer should take some lessons from Meg White, too; either that or the DAT machine skipped a track. The voices? Well, Jenny has a kind of Southern Daisy Mae kind of singing .. flat in places, sharp in others. The guy? Yikes.
Sorry — I rarely give anything a lousy rating. I know how difficult it is to create music and put down a track. But this Piece of Work needs some Work. Reminds me of the Karaoke Booth at "The Music Machine" on Music Row Circle — before the nekkid statues came to town and they tore it down.

I think the reason I despise this so much is that it's almost great.

Unmuted after reading Elvis was involved, and will be upping my rating after I post this . . .
Elvis Costello's singing doesn't help this song at all.
100% disagree.

Reminds me of Tom Petty - Apartment. Except with a woman, and then some dude falling off a building and yelling in the middle.

Hey Bill ... how about following this up with the Carpet Crawlers, by G.
Nothing wrong with alt-country ... reminds me of Maria McKee of the late great Lone Justice. But Elvis C kind of overwhelms Jenny.
Ummm....yuck.

well, it did remind me that it is Miller time here....
It took a minute to realize this is the Rilo Kiley lead, then three more seconds to recognize Elvis C. Pleasant.

Nice lively tune. I like it.

Yarf!

Is this one of those jokes where you change the format to Country Western?
Uh Oh! ... Oh no.
First! This is an enjoyable but forgettable song. I like her work with Rilo Kiley more.
Can someone fill me in - does this mean Rilo Kiley is done?
Edit: holy smokes, what a terrible debut. The average rating is 3. That's positively dismal. I think Dengue Fever does better!
