Oh perilous place walk backwards toward you
Blink disbelieving eyes chilled to the bone
Most visibly brave no apprehended gloom
First to take this foot to virgin snow
I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind oh oh oh oooooh
And I lift the envelope pushed far enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne
Destined to serve, destined to roam
Oh ominous place spellbound and unchild-proofed
My least favorite chill to bare alone
Compatriots in place they'd cringe if I told you
Our best back-pocket secret our bond full-blown
I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind oh oh oh oooooh
I am a pioneer naive enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne
Destined to seek, destined to know
Most beautiful place reborn and blown off roof
My view about-face whether great will be done
I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind oh oh oh oooooh
I am a ground-breaker naive enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne
I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind oh oh oh oooooh
I am a Joan of Arc and smart enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne
Destined to reign, destined to roam
Destined to reign, destined to roam
Destined to reign, destined to roam
Destined to reign, destined to roam
Blink disbelieving eyes chilled to the bone

No idea, but much prefer the look of the 1st to the 2nd on a personal level. The 2nd reminds me of the Gossip for some reason...

You know, I really like old Al. I mean every ounce of reason says that I should hate her, but I don't. I own her 1st 3 albums, I even return to the latter two every 3-4 months and have a listen and I feel a sense of comfort and ease with the sound she makes. Funny...! This song though? This is total shite!

Alanis is pretty good when she takes a jagged little chill pill!
I don't usually like Alanis, but I like this. Except for the way she slurs her words. Her enunciation is on a par with Elton John's.

Grrr, the mis-pronunciation of "wunderkind" is getting on my nerves. Otherwise I'd probably rate it a 6 or 7.

more like fingernails scratching on the blackboard. yeesh. Whiny girl.
Arguably, wunderkind has entered English as a word in its own right - with an English, not a German, pronunciation. Much how we butcher various French and Latin loan words, among many others.
But, as I've said before, I'm a dirty descriptivist :o).
There are 2 Alanis haters here, cuz there are 2 one ratings...this is SO not a ONE.
*edit* make that 4 one ratings
I still give it a 5

Dear Someone, I'm curious, why did you rate this song as outstanding?
Love it. Love how she sings
Brace yourselves for Alanis backlash.

I love this song, but loathe the way she mangles the pronunciation of "wunderkind".
I've never heard this before, but it's decent. I'll give it a five for now.
Are people rating it low because they really think it sucks or is it just automatic with Alanis?
EDIT
It's actually got a pretty good rhythm. I shall bump it to a six.
What's with the prozac morning?
Dear Curious,
Because it's a hair shy of Godlike — couldn't bring myself to give it a 10.
Sincerely, Someone.
