In the deepest ocean, the bottom of the sea
Your eyes they turn me
Why should I stay here? Why should I stay?
I'd be crazy not to follow, follow where you lead
Your eyes they turn me
Turn me on to phantoms, I follow to the edge
Of the earth and fall off
Yeah, everybody leaves if they get the chance
And this is my chance

I get eaten by the worms and weird fishes
Picked over by the worms and weird fishes
Weird fishes, weird fishes

Yeah, I hit the bottom, hit the bottom and escape, escape
I hit the bottom, hit the bottom and escape, escape

Still remains at 7.4 on 2 January 2022.  Maybe it's one of those 'Universal Constants' like pi, or e, or the square-root of 2.

Among many great tracks, this is my favorite RH song. That and Bones. Well chosen!

Huh....that's a very odd and yet appropriate comparison.  Now...if only Zimmie could have sung a Radio Head song with T. Monk playing the piano parts....yeah....that's just TOO weird sounding.

Hmm Radiohead is my favorite band, but I do agree that RP plays them a bit too much. People who hate Radiohead don't want to hear it all the time, and I listen to enough Radiohead from my own music collection.

I feel the opposite.  I think Radiohead's sound has changed tremendously over time.  I love both OK Computer and the Bends.  Their earlier stuff... meh.  Amnesiac - couldn't get it out of the player fast enough.  In Rainbows - I'm not getting it at all; it's not offensive, but it's just sorta bland.

Some of In Rainbows, i.e. Reckoner, Nude, is music that I have never heard, or thought could exist, before. The eclectic sounds next to Thom's voice is incredible. 'Bland' is just moronic.

Try Sound of Muzak, Stars Die, or especially Trains.

And if you can lay your hands on their live DVD it's good pretty much from beginning to end.

Let me know what you think.

Radiohead is similar to Porcupine Tree only in that it is rooted in prog rock (Yes, Emerson/Lake/Palmer, etc.) It's hard to get to love for most people, complex melodies, smarter than the average listener's stuff. You know...nerd music. Love it.

You misspelled his name. It's Thom ;)
Simply Beautiful. For those on blog complaining please note, just about every band going right now is somehow copying Radiohead's sound. Think about that.... the only band to copy Springsteen was John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band.
Oh sorry, the fish. It well, um. . .it disappeared! Seriously. I looked all over for it, under the fake plastic trees (how appropriate), in the gravel, in the pump, everywhere! I kept feeding it just in case it went invisible, but then finally I decided it simply wasn't there anymore, and I cleaned out the tank. I like to think it has gone to a better place, perhaps Heaven or Hawaii.
This band wouldn't work without Tom Pork's voice - it sounds disjointed and thats why Radiohead are so good. They are meant to jarr and sound unmelodic - its meant to grate in your head. I couldn't give a monkeys funk whether he should sing like a chorister - it doesn't matter. Joy Division under Ian Curtis sounded dark and edgy and oh yes, Axl Rose couldn't sing 'The Messiah' soprano part but who wants him to?
But it blows greatly!

It's been three weeks. The fish? (Oh, the song. I'm okay with it. Not a die-hard fan. But it is RP, remember. I'm open to new music. To a point.)

Talking about fish, I really do want to slap Thom Yorke around the chops with a wet haddock until he agrees to take singing lessons. As ever, 7 for the excellent instrumental backing, minus 2 for yer man's whining drone, so 5 from the Nottingham jury.
After reading this it seems to me that the Nottingham jury has a lot of verdicts to reconsider.

What's this, a bulimics anonymous convention? This may not be Radiohead at their best, but there are plenty of acts worth saving the contents of your stomach for. Not that you'd find them on RP.

I've a great deal of respect for Radiohead. They do their own thing and they're wildly talented. They've been able to establish themselves to a point where they can can keep doing their own unique thing. I wish we had more bands in their position, with their kind of talent. The music world would be a much better place. For an old timer like me, they're a modern Roger Waters (he's my weakness ). In Rainbows is disappointing. I look forward to their next release. Good friggin band!!!
Arpeggi is the plural of arpeggio which is an apt description of the song. Maybe Radiohead is starting a trend by labeling songs with Italian nomenclature as is done with classical music.
the discbox has this as a cover, not sure if it will be the same for the cd release in 2008:
Bill: Radio Paradise needs an image file for In Rainbows (even though it's not out yet). I can create a placeholder version from the graphics on the In Rainbows web site if you like, let me know if you want me to do this.
personally i think he was given the best voice.....but to even things out he got given a funny face! (I can't talk mines pretty funny too)
