And get straight
It's in our eyes
It's how we operate
You're true
You are
I'd apologize but it won't go very far
Please come here
Come right on over
And when we collide we'll see what gets left over
A little joy
A little sorrow
And a little pride so we won't have to borrow
Wherever you lead, I'll follow
Turn me inside out and upside down
And try to see things my way
Turn a new page, tear the old one out
And I'll try to see things your way
Please come here
Please come on over
There is no line that you can't step right over
Without you well I'm left hollow
So can we decide to try a little joy tomorrow
'Cos baby tonight I'll follow
Turn me inside out and upside down
And try to see things my way
Turn a new page, tear the old one out
And I'll try to see things your way
The way that we've been speaking now
I swear that we'd be friends, I swear
'Cos all these little deals go down with
Little consequences, we share, we share
Turn me inside out and upside down
And try to see things my way
Turn a new page, tear the old one out
And I'll try to see things your way
And I'm gonna love you anyway
Try to see things your way
Try to see things your way
Try to see things your way
I am not sure what it is - maybe the banjo - but I love the heck out of this song. Such a great band. Would love to see them in concert.
DrWhy, I did. It was exceptional!
I hope they haven't called it quits.
RP should propose different songs of Gomez as well, this one is in heavy rotation but it's boring when you hear always one single song of a band.
You aren't listening very much if this is the only Gomez song you hear:

Seen them 3 times, they are great, hopefully they come back soon. Three different singers whose voices totally complement the songs they sing. They really rock live.
At one point I heard the prediction that they were or would be the new "Grateful Dead". i did not see the comparison at all, but they are definitely a great band.
Still out there. Saw this band at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass last October. Very enjoyable, although the crowd was too self-absorbed to listen much. This is a weakness of outdoors festivals, but the band was great (when I could hear above the chatter).
Some do, some don't. Similar to sine function, like pretty much everything in the world.
Awesome!
It's a rare occasion when someone makes a math reference that most people might understand.
I'm also impressed with the high number of quality "BillG Rocks!" comments on this song. Bravo to BILLG again, always!
Neither had I... why?
Does Bill have some sort of a gift to be able to do this... to have this kind of intelligence (inter legere... being able to make relations between things)?
Anyway, that's why I have been listening to RP for about 15 years now.
TYVM Bill!
Come to think of it, most of the stuff on my iPod I discovered on RP.
Bill, you are the professor of my musical education

Sounds painful!

You've started to see things his way!
It did what now?

You can't reach it through the ear canal?
don't I wish Webfoot! This song gets big points and accolades. I am missing something...
Glad to hear it on RP

Thanks to BillG for turning me on to them!
Absolutely. Great band, rarely heard over here. This track is just up to a solid 9 from this part of the world. Thanks RP.

Poor baby. Too bad you can't just permanently pause and take your negative comments with you....
There there... just take a deep breath. It'll be okay.
It's not just that I disagree with you (though I do, in the strongest possible terms). I'm legitimately afraid for your legal and financial future. Comparing Gomez to Nickelback or Creed could, and should, land you some sort of enormous defamation lawsuit.

I'm with you. I'm generally willing to give any song that's well received by the RP audience the benefit of the doubt, but this just sounds a little too much like the complaint rock I didn't care for in the late 90s and early 2000s.
You think he sounds like Peter Lorre???!!!!
HUH?
Even if I was drunk, stoned, drugged, hallucinating, delerious, etc I would never think of those two together in one concept.....
You must have never heard Peter Lorre singing. He did a kick-ass version of 'My Old Flame"*.
*actually, it was Spike Jones and his band.

Ed Vedder could only dream of having a voice like Ben's
oh, you're not alone! If you scroll through the comments, you'll see that a few of us have already noticed this... I think this is the fourth time I've heard Radio Paradise play these back-to-back... I'll just let that speak for itself.
I hadn't noticed it before... but I can certainly hear it now!
I still love this song (actually, I really like Uninvited too).

I love this song!
So true...such a sad commentary on how some of us deal with relationships in general.
"Without you I'm left hollow"...just a small example of the wisdom of the lyrics in this beautifully written song.
I'll try to see things your way though..

I am not talking about songs with Ben Ottewell on vocals, but a lot of recent Gomez songs sound just as if they were performed by Michael Buble, crazy as that may sound. Thankfully we don't hear them on RP.
That is fair. This is another one of those enigma bands where they can make a great song like this and then the next song on the album you will be like this is turrible!
But I would agree that musically the verse is...uhm, inspired? by Uninvited by Alanis Morisette. I just find it a little too close for comfort...
Radio Paradise t-shirts. Radio Paradise stickers. Radio Paradise patches. Yes, please!
OUTSTANDING—> 9
Hey, Bill: What happened to RadioParadise bumper stickers? I had a few once upon a time, but don't see them on the "Stuff" page. Spreadin' the word, you know.
..i'd display one of those bumper stickers myownself..this song is strong!..Gomez is a "good"..

Yes....indeed...8>9
I agree about the live thing. Palladia runs an older festival where Gomez performs this live sans the banjo and it takes the song to another level- makes this version seem tame by comparison.
YES! I have a video of one of their live concerts....Outstanding version of this song live....Ben cranks it up several thousand notches st the end of the song......yep!
Love Gomez!

You have a noodle shop? Like all they sell is noodles?
We do, Pho sho we do!

i never get tired of this one!
Agreed! An "RP All-Star Track" in my book that has been in rotation for nearly 20 years at this point!
