You say that I am too
So much of what you say is true
I'll never find someone quite like you
Again
I'll never find someone quite like you
Like you

The razors and the dying roses plead
I don't leave you alone
The demi-gods and hungry ghosts of God
God knows I'm not at home

I'll never find someone quite like you
Again
I'll never find someone quite like you
Again

I, I looked into your eyes and saw
A world that does not exist
I looked into your eyes and saw
A world I wish I was in

I'll never find someone quite as touched
As you
I'll never love someone quite the way that I
Loved you

Great movie and this song was perfect for it.

Indeed! I discovered an odd coincidence about the first two notes of the sampled chorus: they exactly match the cadence and pitch of my Tesla’s Autopilot engagement tones!

I'm Bulgarian and I didn't know that. Cheers!
Love the Shenai!
Yep, same today!  But who cares?

Actually, you probably just tasted paint or varnish under a layer of common house dust.
Step Into Liquid.
"Pretty When You Cry" not being on Radio Paradise seems like a crime somehow.
I never heard of them, prior to RP. Now, the more I hear this tune, the more I like it!!   Thanx RP!

Jon Crosby was on such a great roll, but then he kinda disappeared.  He mentioned on a blog that he became the sole caregiver of his infant child, so that explains a lot, but I hope he can get the time to channel some of this great songwriting/production again in the future.

They're also great, should be played more!

This song is mostly carried by the sample,  which inspired me to go back and listen to the Mystere des voix Bulgares again, leading me to conclude that in this case the sample was better off where it started...
I gave it a 6, mostly because of the Mystery of Bulgarian Voices sample.
The bridge towards the end is so... so 1998!

More so with the song "Frog" that is also in rotation here on RP.  Very very Door-ish (in a good way).

Hey Fred, if you're still around, feel free to chime in more frequently........I miss your trenchant humour (with a u )

Google translates this from Bulgarian into English as "Chicken Pee"

I must have rated this track (some time ago, a 1) before I noticed the 'sounds like' with Jim M; other VAST tracks have really gotten my attention, this one took till now - here's a +6...still a bit below average....still can grow more on me....Long Live RP!!

The Wikipedia panel says they released an album in 2018 -- last year.  Maybe you don't have to miss them any longer.

Back in college days, I was given a local punk band's demo cassette and for some reason that was on the B-Side! Ah, I could listen to that any time!

He had to change things up. As it was the album bordered on being gimmicky with all the monk and Bulgarian female choir samples.

But it really was a great album for its time!

I don't exactly make the same connection, but definitely remember an excellent debut record, On Our Big Fat Merry Go Round, from A-House.

Saw this tour in Boston at Axis back in the day.  His drummer was awesome.  Sounded great in that club that was the size of a large closet.
the choral sample is the London Bulgarian Choir, with Deci at the helm.

I saw them in Cardiff Opera House about 8 years ago, boy, they make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.  unforgettable.
GORGEOUS!

His movie Riding Giants was spectacularly shot.  Once you get past the 'Laird Hamilton Advertising Spot' aspects of the film, it really has punch.
This does not sound 15 years old.  Awesome.  Missed it the first time around, buried in grad school hell and no good sources of new music (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it).

The first time I heard this song was watching a surf video of Laird Hamilton.
Anyone else hear The Doors in there? The End?
His voice is so amazing -- still don't understand fully why he isn't bigger. But I did meet him in person and he wasn't very....in to it. He seemed like he didn't want to be there, that his fans were annoyances.

Pity -- but still love his stuff.
This must be listened to on headphones set at 11!

Played this CD many a time in my car during my hour-long commute when this was released.
Epic.
Always liked that song! :)
Jonathan_pa - thanks for the reference. I was trying like hell to place this song. I can remember the sequence when they played this song thinking, "damn, this is good." Watched the credits right through till the end to find out who it was, than did nothing with the information...until now.

I have that DVD.  Now I'm going to have to drag it out and watch it.

This band's name 'does what it says on the tin' - a big, vast sound that demands massive amp stacks and volume up to 11. It's not quite the same coming out of laptop speakers, good though they are :(

Yet another reason I can't listen to terrestrial radio anymore.  It's either Satellite or RP.

Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares meets .... "generic world music dance beat"... but I like it.

Love that horn instrument; I love anything that thing is played in!{#Clap}
Over the top melodramatic, but they pull it off.
kicks ass
Who IS this group? Never heard them before. Excellent. Most excellent. Thanks.
Loved this. Masterful mix of styles. Why haven't I heard it before? When I hear it again I might have to bump it from an 8 to a 9. Anyone have any idea what these guys are doing now? Guess I ought to not be lazy and check for myself....

English major sez: I love this use of the word 'touched.' As if some higher force might reach down, brush against your temple, and make you a little crazy, in a mystic sort of way.

I actually think the Bulgarian women singers and that instrument at the end are the best thing about this song.  Very interesting.

Yes, this song demands a good cranking of the volume knob. If I would rate all my songs by the volume I want to play them at, this one gets a 10.

Vastly {#Lol} prefer "Frog" by this group.

Great mix of east and west.
I have been waithing to hear a bit more from Vast.  I can already hear listener complaints about the chanting but I think this song is a unique and awesome rocker.
