Initially, I thought Franz Ferdinand. But I see far predates them.
Dang...seems like only yesterday that I was blown away and hooked by these guys! When I was getting dug in in Tokyo, early 2002, they were such an essential part of things; everyone LOVED them, and they could be heard setting the party vibe in pubs from Hachioji to Hiratsuka. I had such fun partying to this album with you, Reiko!
i saw them live when this came out. i loved everything about it. like this song, but i don't really care for their most recent stuff for some reason.
Stone's Rocks Off followed by The Strokes. Am I the only one to see a pattern here? Am I the only one that had oysters for lunch? Am I the only one who thinks all the strokes sound like all the other strokes?
My daughter likes this song. And so I give it a 10.
I don't understand why no one understands why The Strokes are so great. Am I the only 30-year-old in the nation who still listens to music at high decibles while driving over the speed limit? OF COURSE the Strokes sound pedantic when you sit at your computer and dissect them. You're supposed to FEEL those drums, not analyze them.

:D :D :D
All right! I love the strokes, how about some songs from "Room on Fire" like 'the end has no end' or 'you talk to much'

I was listening to some songs at random today, and heard New Order's "Age Of Consent" which I thought was this song at first. Very striking similarities.
The folks hyping these guys to death must think that Lou Reed was better than the Beatles... but I don\'t. They\'re OK, but they ain\'t the saviors of Rock \'n Roll
I need Soma to listen these guys. They are pretty popular around here. I don\'t get it.

Read some of these comments and you'll see all kinds of rage. Lighten up people, it's only pop.

More Strokes. More plastic, too. We get the music we deserve, and we\'ve been bad, bad kids all year.
You really don\'t need to play them ever again... :(

so this is the new-new wave...it is alot better than most of the angst rock-rap, sam kinison impersonators out there now. so i agree with you Videll. i recently purchased this cd and realized that most of the cuts sound alike. no matter... i liked it anyway. at least it is upbeat and good to work to. oh, and thanks lily 33 for this one. bizarre, i used to have a waterbed mattress called soma. The Feelies rehashed with less of a singer.
sounds like they may indeed become one-hit wonders. havent heard anything other than their first big radio hit that was any good.
They seem to have the right, self-willed attitude, that\'s often half of the succes in rockmusic.
Gotta listen to some more of them, I quess, to really know how much more there is but the right attitude.
Thought this song sounds a bit like Cracker and gotta love a soma reference.

Perfect on a friday afternoon. Lot of great songs on this album.
Hear Here! What a completely fun album! Love it all!
