Opened for The Cure. Maniacs were great. I really miss the concerts we were lucky to see there. $4 and price of park admission, such a great deal. :)
Late 80's, Canada's Wonderland...they were the openers...and threw down one of the most surprising, emotional and tight sets I've ever seen. Had zero expectations and they made an instant fan. Natalie was sublime...and live, her voice so packed with life...it was hard to not be wrapped in the moment...loved her/them ever since.

The bass line and technique are amazing. Steve Gustafson conducts a clinic on this one.

Genuinely curious if this is a minority opinion, but I prefer her as a solo artist.

Then maybe follow that with 'Real Men' by Joe Jackson?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
PS, looking for that link lead me to finding that there is a cover of 'Real Men' by Tori Amos (popular with Bill). But i didn't dig it very much, so i'm not adding a link to that here.

Love the way Natalie Merchant's career has evolved. I find her voice splendid - though I believe I read that she wanted to write her own music to fit her voice - she is always quite interesting
I haven't heard this tune in years, nice harmony by Natalie and friends
Natalie at her best
still love this album.. never tire of the maniacs.

Calm down, the line is about maturity, not gender
