Coming from someone who probably listens to Eminem.

I don't think it's unusual as we get older to look back and wonder how in the hell most of us managed to survive.
Blind luck and perhaps a better class of friends
Wow, that is very impressive.
Did you come up with that intellectual critique all by yourself, or did you need help?
And what dit they suck ?? I don't understand ??

Every time I hear one of their songs, I cannot help but think about how Jim Morrison let the people in his life down, and how inspired their music was, but it's a reminder of how self destructive behavior and disrespecting others can lead down a very dark and deadly road. I cannot celebrate self destructiveness and extreme selfishness, and it ruins the music for me.
It reminds me of all of the great music and people lost during that time to drugs and alcohol and self destructive living. I feel sorry for the surviving members of The Doors who were let down by Morrison.
Morrison was. He strut upon the world's stage and was gone. That his inner demons took him from us all is nothing more than a tragedy. Period.
The fantastic music remains and is loved by millions worldwide in spite of anyone's self moralization and virtue signalling.

The little guy on the album cover died just last year. I forget his name, but he played ALF on that stupid TV show, which name I also forgot.

I agree and am grateful for the magical PSD button.
This is the most tired comment on these boards. That is what the button is for. Just push it. There's really no need to tell us about it.
"Royal babies. Rubies. Must now replace aborted strangers in the mud. These mutants. Blood meal for the plant that's plowed." -ibid
The Lizard King at his best/worst.

AND...what do you think about "The Windows"?
Well, I know Bill Gates says "The Windows has been vera vera good to me"...

So true, and diversity is what keeps the ugh's and aahh's coming.
No-one had a corner on the Doors, as a member of the class of "67"
I watched the flower of Rock and Roll bloom and grow and bloom again
and again. The Doors are one of the many very talented corner-stones of
R & R . Be it Muddy, Buddy, Roy, or Jim they all had a hand in the formation
of a celebration of life and times through their very visceral music. Sad that many of the most
creative simply couldn't live with the demons in their head or the amount of dope
it took to quill their madness. Some people just never pulled the rip-cord.
+1 that. well put.

Well, I'll listen to the BBC for a while and then check back in a moment.
In Manhattan? Everyone's a circus freak!!!!
Oh, and I LOVE the smell of napalm in the morning....
Especially when you think about all that time Morrison spent in 'nam. Every time he was home he thought he was gonna wake up back in the jungle. When he was home after his first tour, it was worse. He'd wake up and there'd be nothing. He hardly said a word to his wife, until he said "yes" to a divorce. When he was here, he wanted to be there; when he was there, all he could think of was getting back into the jungle ....
Apologies to Apocalypse Now.
For the record the Doors kick ass, but you don't have to get drafted to enjoy them.
Not my favorite track off this album, but still exciting to hear.
Uggh..HUM!!!!! (Clears throat).....You suck!
