We close our eyes
The perfect life
is all we need
You open up when you had me in your hands
Slipping far away with the world at your command
You sing me to sleep and then you hit me awake
It's a perfect life, a perfect life
I only want to be here when you're by my side
Oh I believe now, I'll love you 'til I die
You will sing me to sleep, you will hit me awake
in the perfect life, the perfect life
Oh
We close our eyes
The perfect life, life
is all we need
Little Mike he, steps everywhere
Knives in his pockets and bullets in his hair
He has nothing to live for, nothing left to say
He's locking all the doors to keep the older wolves at bay
Spoons and foil are all he needs.
A bed and some china
A lighter and some speed
It will sing you to sleep, it will hit you awake
In the perfect life, a perfect life.
(Guitar solo)
Oh
We close our eyes
The perfect life, life
is all we need
Oh
It goes all night
The perfect life, life
is all we need
Oh
We close our eyes
The perfect life, life
is all we need
Oh
We close our mind
The perfect life, life
is all we need
The perfect life, the perfect life, the perfect life
all we need
Look, I feel you. I can't stand Neil Young, but I know I'm never going to escape him on RP, so I just go with it, make my snarky comment, then skip. Bill's doing his best appealing to a wide range here.
So I'm not the only one...(keep doing what you do Bill)
We close our eyes

hari hari krishna hari rama hari hari
Great lyrics, but an uninspired 3-chord melody. I think he could have done better. And I am a Moby-liker.
The point is to keep it simple. It's a chant. Chant works like that.
Well, no, in fact, his work will outlast us all. You'll see.
I mean, you won't actually.
hahaha touche
Oh

Just kind of resonates after nearly two years of COVID madness

Y'all could just buy your own music, and listen to exactly what you want. But go for internet radio, you have to take the rough with the smooth. There's always the skip button.
Less of Moby please Bill. Does anyone really like his music?

I do and that is all that really matters.

Yes.

I do and if you don't get your own radio station

hahahahaha exactly
I believe you have completely misunderstood the ironic meaning and purpose of this song. A casual reading of the lyrics could correct that, possibly.

Wait! It's Moby?? Poor Melville! ;(
Feel free, he is one of the most tedious on RP. Sadly makes me change station.
EVEN the highest rated tracks here (think Floyd, Jimi, Beatles, Bach, Beethoven) have negative posts and folks saying some version of "this doesn't belong on RP" - whatever BillG sees fit to play fits PERFECTLY here.
Or to use a line from comedian Mitch Hedberg (RIP) "You can't satisfy all of the people all of the time, and last night, all of those people were at my show."
This one's still an 8 for me!
Long Live RP and Bill and Rebecca's playlist decisions!!
Chuckle, chuckle. As a former 1st trumpet in high school and college marching bands, I agree with your assessments.
Either way....we b tripping....😁🤘😂
Can we give negative notes, here?
PSD time, here.

Damn, bro. Heavy.
Indonesian Monkey Chant and Mongolian throat singing sounds dated, by a thousand years or so but it still captivates when heard ...
Yes, I like it, too.

Perhaps, but this doesn't sound very "minimal" to me; it's a pretty lavish production.
I hear only vague echoes of Arcade Fire in this. I do hear southern gospel and field songs married with the lounge lizard techno at which Moby has excelled for 20 years. This is way past the pretentious, monotonous dreck of Arcade Fire.
Who's doing the lauding? Pan and pan, I say! Coldplay have a lot to answer for!
I agree with Daigoro...meh.
tissues?

Albeit lacking in the requisite sinister irony.

Does someone need a group hug?
Stingray, I think they're...SCIENTOLOGISTS!
Those cuddly critters are likely to make Stingray XXXTREMELY AGITATED!
Do you mean seeing a marching band whose members have taken LSD, or observing a marching band after having taken LSD? The former seems sort of fun, the latter seems like it might be a little uncomfortable...or even scary.
I think observing the first option would be the most entertaining.
Even if its heart is in the right place.
and I actually like his albums "Play" & "18"!
no, thank you, repetition of this song feels like watered song from his previous albums and his whining got to new extremes
Jah bless Bill for PSD!
got this gem: John Cale & Brian Eno — Lay My Love
ah, the beautiful days/nights of Northern Exposure......

agreed, I am blissfully ignorant of what is being overplayed on commercial radio right now.
Me too! Yay!

I MUST-MUST comment a second time!
This song, this music and this guy is really the VERY-VERY-VERY last one should play and hear on this station!
XXXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING!

XXXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING!
This is the best song Moby has done in 10 years. I just got caught up with the rest of his work and now I own a copy of all of his CDs...for me this is a return to what he does best. He seemed off in an intellectual noodling phase like Radiohead is in but now he is back!
I was jammin' to this in my car the other day and this song brought out tears---certainly NOT the kind of tears it brings out in you Mr. Ray!

HAHAHA - Helgi's getting critical (first time?)!
PS: What do you mean with "other radio stations"....?
There shouldn't be any other for you! That's the rule you agreed on!
Just in time for me to listen to some Floyd!
Please, please, I beg you not to play such songs....it really hurt my ears...
A least we are not subjected to another Beck Hanson "song".
Actually Moby is one of a pair of aliases. It's the one he uses for all his commercial dreck (AKA the shit that would pay the bills, assuming revenues from Play aren't still paying all the bills). You want interesting electronica look into anything he's released under the alias Voodoo Child.
I listen to mainstream radio a lot...there is nothing like this song played there
if i kesp seeing all this Mobyhating I is gonna get gangsta
sent from my iphone
