Geographical/historical oddity: The Isle of Man is not strictly part of the UK. It's a "crown dependency".

The eastern/western blend is perfect. Wonderful RP classic with lyrics that resonate with humanity.

I believe this talented guy lives in Nanaimo, BC, of all places.
The only other claim to fame that Nanaimo has is a tasty dessert bar. Highly recommended.

But GetBakedTonight is right, Bill needs to explore Harry Manx's catalog further and not just play one song. This is kind of a problem with a lot of RP songs.

Saw Harry about a month ago, still as impressive as ever. He's a dry, droll punning, technically excellent kind of guy.
I didn't get the impression he minded my (probably naive) questions at all,he just seemed happy somebody had been really listening, trying to pick up the nuances.

Saw Harry again 2 months ago at a "4 songs and you're done" review for US booking agents.
He was head and shoulders above the competition, with the added bonus that he can solo, or trio depending on the venue and need.
Kudos.

Possibly my favorite song on RP. Reminds me of last year's summer stuck at the hospital, eagerly longing all day for RP to play it — had nothing else to do except waiting Those minor chords and this gone-through-tubeamp-like voice both kill me.
Fred G. Sanford is one smooth singer.
Saw Harry last week in Kingston Ontario his last stop on his road east.
He did not play this song but he is a very entertaining & puts on a great show.
Check him out if he comes your way.

Man, the closest he gets to these here parts is Morgantown, WV—five hours of hard driving. And in March when a snowstorm is as likely as not. Damn. To get tickets or not to get tickets, that is the question.
I was drivin' out Wagstaff Road and I saw one of those country-hick mailbox sheds, next to a crude chainsaw carving of Kali dancing on Shiva (!) at the end of a long winding driveway that wound deep into the woods. On one box was "Harry Manx" and right next to it was "Radio Paradise." Maybe it was justa dream... This song puts me right into a state of light hypnosis/ mushroom highness with just simple sound waves... THANKS RP!
I see you have got your groove back, got weird on paradise for a bit this summer. Still think you need to open up to some guest DJs

reminds me of robbie and i like it !
Was extremely surprised to learn from a friend last week that "Harry Manx" used to do a silent comedy street show as "Mr. Peabody"! We were reminiscing about acts gone by when I mentioned "Mr. Peabody" and he told me he is now doing music as "Harry Manx".
I think I like this one
Has a good feel. So far...liking much of Harry Manx.
I heard this song yesterday, and although I like it....there is too much in the RP library to play this twice in 2 days.
But then again...I'm not the DJ
Bill is the MAN!

First time I saw Harry Manx, he was following a famous player, who, after the gig, famously said: "Never hire an opener whois better than you".
He was right.
PS You've got love a man who's puns are worse/better than your own.

What I was thinking too-- he's like a latter-day Robbie Robertson. He did do a cover of "Long Black Veil" on "Bread And Buddha" but it was in a sorta cheezy C&W vein.
One of those songs that you want keep going on and on. (Not unlike Somewhere Down the Crazy River)

Hey Harry,
Any tour dates scheduled for Ft Lauderdale? (no, not Miami) Yeah, its hot here and you can swim in the humidity of South Florida but it's tolerable in Jan-Apr.

This song is soooo good for the ears...
Harry Manx, and his mind-bending strings, have been enchanting and entrancing me regularly since I got hip to RP; dig it, 12 years now; THANKS!

I don't know whether to cringe or LOL at the album title. It's certainly interesting. Fine sound, though. 7 from the Nottingham jury.

No, he was born on the Isle of Man and his parents moved to Canada in the early 1960s.. Not that it matters though.
