Each morning I get up I die a little
Can barely stand on my feet (take a look at yourself)
Take a look in the mirror and cry
Lord, what you're doing to me
I have spent all my years in believing you
But I just can't get no relief, Lord!
Somebody oooh somebody
Can anybody find me somebody to love?
I work hard (he works hard) everyday of my life
I work 'till I ache my bones
At the end (at the end of the day)
I take home (goes home) my hard earned pay all on my own (goes home on his own)
I get down on my knees
And I start to pray (praise the Lord)
'Till the tears run down from my eyes
Lord, somebody oooh somebody
Can anybody find me somebody to love?
(He works hard)
Every day - I try and I try and I try -
But everybody wants to put me down
They say I'm going crazy
They say I got a lot of water in my brain
Got no common sense
I got nobody left to believe
Oh Lord
Somebody (somebody)
Can anybody find me somebody to love?
Got no feel, I got no rhythm
I just keep losing my beat
I'm OK, I'm alright
I ain't gonna face no defeat
I just gotta get out of this prison cell
Someday I'm gonna be free, Lord!

I'd give this more than a 5 if I didn't hear it so much on crap main stream radio. That's why I listen to RP, so I don't have to hear main stream music!!!
I am glad that Bill always plays good and often great music and doesn't care whether it gets played elsewhere.
1974, Dortmund, Germany. Queen Live.
A Great Performance, brilliant sound,oh find me somebody...
My parents were there!! Even had my VERY staid father up and dancing apparently. I then say them live in the early 80's.... I was definitely up and dancing.
Consummate.
Try being a Queen naysayer after that.

I always appreciate how RP brings back some of these overplayed songs from our past and we hear them with fresh ears...fresh context. Especially when they are mixed into an eclectic playlist...makes them sound totally different. Blondie, Madonna, I hear the artistry in a new way. Thank you RP!
Oh man. So true!
Loved every moment of that season, rehersals for dance and voice and movement, and gf's closeness as bonus,
What an awesome time...
Pedant 3 here.
Needn't be possessive. A conference of multiple pedants = a pedant conference.
You're turn. /s
Your, not you're...or are goading and I've fallen for it?
Yours, Pedant #4
Sorry to be a pedant but that should be "PEDANTS' CONFERENCE", with an apostrophe after the "s".

1/3 of that is 'good'.
The other 2/3 is between excellent ond OMG!
8-9 on this track for me...
Surely 'Pedants' needs an apostrophe?
Not if it's plural.

unclehud, part-time pedant
Addendum: The guitar work in the song is exquisite. Easily an 8.
Still the most overrated band ever.
Still? According to what list? Your list? Who's list? And how are they exactly overrated?

Yeah, I feel the same way about Bach and Beethoven. Can't really appreciate their music unless you've been there back in the day.
Zing

Surely 'Pedants' needs an apostrophe?

No words, what a nasty thing to say. Shame!
Very annoyed that the volume on my speakers only goes up to 10.
Mine do go to 11. I took a maker to the volume indicator. It's great much louder!!
Still the most overrated band ever.
Each to their own

'I just gotta get out of this prison cell
Someday I'm gonna be free, Lord!'
generally heard too soon after finding somebody to love
Still the most overrated band ever.
You must like someone like Taylor swift or brittany spears then?

I'm so over the Queen thing. I didn't like them much back in the day (Radio Gaga? Really) and now they are being raised to mythical status by kids that weren't there.

Excellent piece of pedantry; well spotted.

I just did the same thing

Yes! ...and now it seems better with High Quality headphones in FLAC with a great DAC & amp!

"Radio Gaga" was quite late in there career; "back in the day" for them would have been the late 1970s and early '80s.

Touché .
Uhhh...think they might have been at mythical status well before the kids that weren't there got ahold of them (see Live Aid, 1984).

Rating to me 8 -Most Excellent
Might be great music - but over played till boring.
I second that!! Mo' Queen!

Amen!
So very true! And how about that vocal range, eh? Freddie "HG" Mercury is in a class by himself with his voice and musical arrangements. Rock on, PEACE and Long Live RP!!
No, this is opus. The entire album would be opera.

This IS opera—dressed up a bit as rock n' roll. It wouldn't surprise if Jeff Lynne was green with envy over Queen's talent and sound.

Everybody in my churches loves this song... A Day At The Races is a truly great album... (so is A Night At The Opera...)

Because most of us don't listen to anything else and we are not over-exposed. Stop listening to crap stations and then you can rediscover the joy and genius of songs such as this. They are popular for a reason.
I don't know about that; I would venture a guess that "most" of the RP listeners are not continually connected to a streaming source, to listen only to RP, or many may find themselves listening to terrestrial radio at one time or another - like while driving.
Ditto, ditto and ditto.
Ha ha! Nailed it.
I don't think I have listened to commercial radio this century.
Yes!!

Superb song. I first stated listening to Queen (buying their albums) in 1981. This song never really struck me at first. In fact, it was only in the last ten years that I really started to get it.
There are loads of gems of this quality on every album they did up until Hot Space came along. It wasn't until Innuendo that the magic returned.
Well said. Why anyone would try to cover this is beyond me.
George Micheal with the rest of Queen did it damned well, but the audience made it magical

The fantastic multilayered Greek chorus (HE WORKS HARD) and the flowing, intelligent May guitar solo.
and that gradual crescendo
need somebody to love
need somebody to love
need somebody to love
need somebody to love
Be *very* careful with comments about Adam Lambert, or you may experience the wrath of the Glamberts! (Scroll down to the comments and enjoy a little indignation with your morning coffee)

I agree, madam... hope you are having a marvelous time right now...
love this great classic song...
I knew eventually we'd agree on something.
I like some of Queen's stuff, but this is just bombastic schmaltz.
Sure is, reminds me of Gregor Robertson in a red Chinese jacket.
