Baby wants a new spin
Baby wants a broken heart
Hear you found the lynchpin
To keep it all from falling apart
But you keep on rolling
Yes you keep on rolling
Keep on rolling
You keep on rolling
Better find a way
Better kick it from your big brown eyes
I hear it tightens up
When you fall at the fifteenth try
Like a ship at ocean
Like a ship at ocean
Like a ship at ocean
Like a ship at sea
You spit thick and you cross your heart
But the culvert's all run dry
From keeping shotgun-shy
All arise! Just be mine tonight
So the dollar shop shoppers
Broke the lock and they knocked you down
Better call the coppers
If you need someone to push you around
But you keep on stealing
You keep on stealing
Yes, you keep on stealing
Till there's nothing left to steal
You spit thick and you cross your heart
But the culvert's all run dry
From keeping shotgun-shy
All arise! Just be mine tonight
Baby wants a broken heart
Hear you found the lynchpin
To keep it all from falling apart
But you keep on rolling
Yes you keep on rolling
Keep on rolling

I know, right? A substandard offering from an otherwise great band. If their body of work was not so impressive perhaps this song would seem less...cringy.
Finally, I now know what they play in Hell.

That was the exact sentence I was going to use. Anyhoo I switched over to LRC.
Man, do I hate these guys. All go away!

This pseudo Cajun/country is way worse than their pseudo-Brit Renaissance/folk/rock, which is at least tolerable.

No, but their genre of folk-rock, or Nu-nu-folk, will fall out of fashion in a year or two I'm sure, and all the bands in it will return to relative obscurity. I can live with this lot, sort of, but bands like Mumford & Sons and Fleet Foxes (coming on after this number) deserve to return to playing tiny clubs in the hicks, IMO.
Yes, they'll fall out of fashion, only to be replaced in a few years by Nu-nu-nu-folk types. There is nothing new under the sun. Let's just hope that disco carp is well and truly dead.

Totally tired of the Decemberists. Will they go away in January?

I guess they haven't gone away - even though you wrote the very same sentiment in the comments for no less than 13 of their songs: the exorcism didn't take. I don't particularly like a lot of the material from this band much either, but they don't irritate me as much as they apparently do other folks here.

I assure you it wasn't me, the rating is too high at 5 as it is! I did my part by chipping in my requisite 1 for this band.
Not even played through and already rated. Somebody likes their Decemberists! Remembering Bill's famous warning to Excelsior about rating 1s before songs were played, I'm wondering...

I couldn't make it to the end of this song. I'm sitting here stunned because after a few years of regular listening, this is the first time that I've ever had to kill a song on Radio Paradise. Ewwww. (shivers)
there's too much in the mix to suit me...not my style, which is pretty open
Why?
Just say no!

Odd. The only good song I have heard from these guys.
