(feat. Judy Tzuke)
Shut the gates and sunset
After that you can't get out
You can see the bigger picture
Find out what it's all about
You're open to the skyline
You won't want to go back home
In a garden full of angels
You will never be alone
But oh the road is long
The stones that you are walking on
Have gone
With the moonlight to guide you
Feel the joy of being alive
The day that you stop running
Is the day that you arrive
And the night that you got locked in
Was the time to decide
Stop chasing shadows
Just enjoy the ride
If you close the door to your house
Don't let anybody in
It's a room that's full of nothing
All that underneath your skin
Face against the window
You can't watch it fade to grey
And you'll never catch the fickle wind
If you choose to stay
But oh the road is long
The stones that you are walking on
Have gone
With the moonlight to guide you
Feel the joy of being alive
The day that you stop running
Is the day that you arrive
And the night that you got locked in
Was the time to decide
Stop chasing shadows
Just enjoy the ride

Everything Morcheeba does is indeed sublime… ❤️
Nice choice of song following Christine McVie Song, thanks William
So is Bill and company just expertly selective, or is everything that Morcheeba does just sublime?
The former.
If you like this you may like pretty much all other Morcheeba. I argue that much of the rest of Morcheeba is sublime and suggest digging into their back catalog starting with Big Calm and Who can you Trust? On the other hand yes, everything on RP is expertly selective! Cheers.

This one always creates a groove that settles in well during work time. I seem to type on this confounded computer better when this one is playing. Smooth and silky!

AMAZING
One of many I love from Morcheeba
I like Morcheeba a lot and saw them twice live. The first time around 2014 still with Paul Godfrey and the last one in 2018. Great gigs and only disappointment was that they didn't perform this song.
Update: saw them again yesterday (feb 22) and they played this song. Nice concert. One could feel the positive energy of enjoying a concert after the long and difficult phase of covid restrictions. Both the band and the crowd.

This is my fav song by this group - probably because the video is particularly great as well.
Some folks like Lescheeba, but I like Morcheeba.
i love the lyrics, and the melody.... Basically the whole song, thanks
The day you stop running is the day that you arrive...
Just enjoy the ride!!!

Would give Skye and the boys a 20+ rating for this epic track if possible. Brings back fond memories
This is one that will be stuck inside my head this day. A true earworm.
A slithering groove for sure!

Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question: "Is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, and they say, "Hey - don't worry, don't be afraid - EVER - because... this is just a ride." And we... KILL those people. "Shut him up! And we can change it anytime we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. A choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your door, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love, instead, see all of us as one.
Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride: Take all that money that we spend on weapons and defense each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over - not one human being excluded - and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace." - Bill Hicks

I like Judy Tzuke but it would be interesting to hear Skye Edwards singing it. For this version a 7 from me - for an imaginary sultry breathless version from Skye - a 9 !
The vocals are by Judie Tzuke
Discovering songs like this is why I am now totall hooked on Rp

Such a weary song... it echoes my feelings completely.
This song is like seeing an old friends after too long apart...
Everything fits so well with what I seek in-real-life, music, books, discussions. Intelligence... and no shouting or force trying to insert something into my brain.... Yes, I am tired of this political season... Politics is a game that everything one thinks they -ARE- good at. They refuse to hear any other sounds than their own voice... Nobody is THAT damn good...
Stop chasing shadows....

I could be wrong, but isn't 2008 considered part of the 2000's? I mean, 2000's would theoretically include everything up to 2999, but I'm pretty sure Morcheeba won't still be remembered very well.
That is assuming humanity has not destroyed ourselves by then or the planet is not wiped clean by an asteroid strike or some volcanic cataclysm.
Or the zombie apocalypse. Hey, you never know.
You're right, and what a hopeful comment!
