He will bring happiness in a pipe,
He'll ride away on his silver bike
And apart from that he'll be so kind
In consenting to blow your mind.

Fly Translove Airways, get you there on time.
Fly Translove Airways, get you there on time.

He will bring orchids for my lady,
The perfume will be of an excellent style
And apart from that he'll be so kind
In consenting to blow your mind.

Fly Translove Airways, get you there on time.
Fly Translove Airways, get you there on time.

He will bring happiness in a pipe,
He'll-a ride away on his silver bike
And apart from that he'll be so kind
In consenting to blow your mind.

Fly Jefferson Airplane, get you there on time.

freaky deaky!
"Captain High at your service".  Damn right.
What better song to celebrate that NJ voted to legalize recreational MJ?

The song lyrics always made perfect sense to me decade after decade. Must be a "you had to be there" thing.

Perhaps you'll view the Jefferson Airplane video linked above and in consideration of the strength of the music, lyrics and visuals you'll have an "Ohhhhh now I get it moment".  Maybe.

*pfffft* *pfffft* *cough* ..."ere. And keep it to 100 mics for starters.

I love me some vintage JA! Takes me back to that vibe, an era without boundaries

Go figure. That shaving thing is so weird to me.
Now I wonder what kind of loos they have on their planes, perhaps you can just change the sign before going in.

Happiness in a pipe, that's quite good!

As long as it's not in a locket, you're fine :)
Such a groovy song
An old favorite from this oldster. Love his voice from this period!

Must have written this when he was hanging out with the Fab four in India.
Would have lived the entire span of my life, and never heard this, if it weren't for B&R.  Gratitude!
OMG... in the holy name of Bob Fosse.

Okay, so we have this fabulous Christmas tree ornament of a wonderfully plump, naked, porcelain angel that we love—no pic, sorry, but she's a bawdy little treasure. Every year, when it goes on the angel tree (well, when you get older, you can have a couple of 'em...{#Lol}), I pull out the Airplane's Bless Its Pointed Little Head and play their live version of "Fat Angel." Kantner sings it, and it is sublime. Seldom has Donovan, a crotchety old fart in his dotage, been accorded finer props.

I LOVE THE RADIO PARADISE.! Brasil..
Donovan had some good tunes for sure, but this one is cringe-inducing.
I remember Eric Burdon singing of Trans-Love Airways...San Franciscan Nights
save all your bread and fly>

Blimey - he must have well doped up when he wrote this...makes less sense than a Steely Dan track...

Well, that was up until the early 1990's, stylistically.   This song is a little more dated than that.

Agreed.... all those excursions and never had one of those things. Must be one of those made up things to make you never try something new.
I think you needed to be there (I was). Nice flashback.
This blows my mind.
Yawn.  {#Sleep}
Smiling as wide as the sky.

Fly Qantas Airways... bring your own turbine.

Aaah, wake up and smell the joss sticks.{#Hungry}

Great LP, every song a gem.  Thanks, RP!

I like this song and thought this period of Donovan's output was his best.
Was this, or did it inspire, the erotic dance number in All That Jazz?

The media wanted him to be The Bob in a kilt, but he skirted the label—commando style.

Woah, easing me into the day. Thanks!

Well, fashion occurs in cycles—-maybe hirsutism will come back in ALL areas, not just the one your talking about!

I had the best of both worlds. London until 1968 and San Francisco from 1968 to 1973. They say that if you can remember this song - or any other - you were not there. I don't buy it. I remember them all but then there is Syd Barrett, Peter Green and so many others who bought a one way ticket. The only downside is that my kids look at photos of their Mom and Dad from that era and credibility goes out the window. ;-)

Nice. Always good to hear a little Donovan.

anyhow song has to be removed

Donovan is the only person who could say "Blow your mind" and make it seem profound.

Clearly your appreciation of music from an era before teen drivel became the norm is on par with your spelling.

The song is actually a tribute to the Airplane.

why why why did George have to pick up that sitar?.... not because of what HE did with it, but rather what the resulting bandwagon did.... ugh

Da Nada.  Always loved this song.

Donovan was a brilliant musician...still is.

This song echoes an amazing epoch. I saw him play solo at the Sydney Opera House and no one could believe what amazing sounds came from one person.

Sorry...but a legend for sure...

I hate Donovan.  (This is something I say every single time I hear a Donovan song, and therefore, I must put it down here.)

You know, I never heard any Donovan when I was growing up. I think I would have liked him. Thanks to RP, I can hear him now.
