(H4Fake|Lovers In Japan)
Lovers, keep on the road you're on
Runners, until the race is run
Soldiers, you've got to soldier on
Sometimes even the right is wrong

They are turning my head out
To see what I'm all about
Keeping my head down
To see what it feels like now
But I have no doubt
One day, we're gonna get out

Tonight, maybe we're gonna run
Dreaming of the Osaka sun
Ohohohoh ohohohoh oh
Dreaming of when the morning comes

They are turning my head out
To see what I'm all about
Keeping my head down
To see what it feels like now
But I have no doubt
One day, the sun will come out

(H4Fake|Reign Of Love)
Reign of love
I can't let go
To the sea I offer this heavy load
Locust wind
Lift me up
I'm just a prisoner in a reign of love

Locust wind
Let us stop
How I wish I'd spoken up
To a reign of love

Reign of love by the church we're waiting
Reign of love on my knees go praying
How I wish I'd spoken up
Away get carried on a reign of love

Agreed. Eno's touch gives the usual Coldplay schlock a bit of life, but so does makeup on a corpse.

{#Lol}

i'm surprised at all the dis cold play is getting. i enjoy cold play, but than i seem to enjoy most everything i hear here.

bill, thank you for trying to play a good variety without any bias. you are doing a fab job.

please make it stop. this is torture!!!

Well said. It'll be acceptable to like them one day when said hip folk have kids and mortgages. Same goes for U2.

please please LESS COLDPLAY. i can't stand this guys voice and the music is middle-of-the-road too. it does sound like a weaker U2 song too...

Duck! Mr. Martin is back! {#Headache}
I wish Bill would play the piano bit that plays at the end of this track. It's quite good.

EDIT: HE PLAYED IT! HE PLAYED IT! WOOT!

I guess I'm just not hip enough to dislike these guys.  {#Whistle}

Love this album. But this song gets too much airplay as it is on commerical radio.

Dude that is one epic digression.  I bow down in awe.

I actually looked at this song because I thought Bono was singing, and I was going to comment that I've been wondering lately what I ever saw in U2 back in the day.

bono who?   me 2   lol
I wondered what anybody saw in him/them
lately I'm thinking the same of...cold play
though my fav is still Fix you and stangely enough off key yellow

And here I was thinking RP played good music.  Silly me.  This last hour had been sounding so good, too.  I don't care if Eno produced it; it's still mindless corporate junk.

I think that this song has a great beat and that the video (and song, of course) are phenomenal.{#Bananapiano}

I wouldn't call this innovation.  I'd call it channeling 80's U2.

i have a diametrically opposed opinion.

i'd buy an instumentals album in a heartbeat.

I have yet to hear one single U2 song that makes me think of Coldplay.

that optimum when a band can have a proper identity; and, important too, to know to keep it….or, if not, its more better to close the door for workmanships..... -   4 / 5.

To me, this album is taking them back to their starting point, which is wonderful for me as I really enjoyed their earlier music.  I hardly could stand X&Y but this album, has given me the faith I once had in them back.
My favorite song still though is Trouble, Clocks and now Viva. {#Notworthy}

Parachutes is still my favorite album by Coldplay - that and some singles (like Faster Car and See You Soon) that precluded that first album. It took a little time to like 'Rush of Blood' and even more time to like X&Y and I like most of what I hear from Viva' though I don't own it yet. I saw them twice in Atlanta and I love 'em no matter what anyone else thinks. YaY Chris Martin and Coldplay!

If I ever have a band, one name I am considering is "Hooda Thunkitt"

Viva la Coldplay
singers not bad, but the rest of the band sucks.
I think Eno may have made a few suggestions on the "Reign of Love" part.

I just did the same and I agree!
i love it.

How could you possibly think this is U2?
Ummmm... easy. Because it sounds like them.

oh I don't know chugging-train drums, thudding insistent bass, chiming guitar rings---hmmm, yeah where y'getting U2 on this?!
I gave this album a once-through on a road trip last weekend and we weren't too impressed. Just seemed to lack the punch that their last two albums had. I'll listen to it more to get a fair opinion, but the first listen didn't make us want to let it play through again.

Yes, I really like as well, I wasn't as overly impressed with X&Y as most were, it wasn't bad, just wasn't outstanding either. But this one seems a more 'intentional' piece of work. Nice.

I think thats because this song (can't comment on the whole album) is actually pretty good AND a significant departure from the rest of their stuff. Sounds like they're actually trying to innovate again which is a great thing.
Wow, this song made me stop what I was doing to see who it was. Imagine my surprise...Coldplay! Very nice!
I keep hoping that this band will get better....they never do....
Coldplay - Lovers In Japan/Reign Of Love Sufjan Stevens - For the Widows in Paradise, Fo... Talking Heads - Listening Wind Dengue Fever - Sui Bong Interesting set today. All of the bands the people here at RP love to hate on. I'm looking forward to hearing something from Dave Matthews soon.

excellent
Ooo! Another Coverplay song! I dig 'em and all but geez, Louise...
Coldplay actually innovating again, who'd da thunk that?
U2ish
Second song from this CD I've heard here on RP. I'll hold off on rating it. For a first listen, it's okay. Might want to purchase this. Don't feel I HAVE to have in my library - yet. Unlike something I heard from "Luce" yesterday - which grabbed me immediately. Wait . . . what happened in the second section? Don't like this change of pace. Thought it was someone else. That the intent?
The first half of this song has an annoying continuous whirring sound that someone probably thought was keen.
Wow, it's got...energy. And it's not mopey. Did he find a nice girlfriend or something?
I am enjoying the new album so far. Seems more straightforward
