I saw him in a club in DC right as he was starting to get famous - circa 1987-88.  One of the best shows I've ever seen.

This stuff is beautiful to my ears.  This takes me back to times I don't want to remember, either.  He certainly nails feeling sorry for yourself like few other artists can. Sad git.

The delay on the guitar builds a tonal bridge across the whole song creating ebbs and flows of sonic fluidity.

Check out his song "Please" (can't remember on which album).  He really rocks out on that one, although he still has woman problems in it.

That's his former guitarist, James Wilsey, who gave Chris' earlier stuff its distinctive sound.

It's a Gibson archtop—I don't know the model. Funny thing is that this album features him mostly on a Fender Strat, which is why he sounds so much like Knopfler, who played a Strat almost exclusively in his early years.
