Oh baby, can you hear me moan?
You caught me under false pretenses,
How long before you let me go?

Oo-ah, you set my soul alight
Oo-ah, you set my soul alight

Glaciers melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive

I thought I was a fool for no one
But oh baby, I'm a fool for you
You're the Queen of the superficial
But how long before you tell the truth?

42 of your fellow RPers seem to not like your sardonic humor. I, however, think it is not only funny but in fact too kind.
thats so funny supermassive asshole

Stupid... irrelevant post.
Very catchy!
I feel like I like this band a lot more than I should?

They're so cheesy!

But they make it WORK!

Please. No politics. Let's keep RP free of religious cults.
Muse is the ultimate Los Angeles Freeway music Band!
In the fire station, up at 1:17 a.m. after running a call and writing my run report with my earbuds in.  Chair dancing and telling myself "You can't sing out loud at 1:00 in the morning in the station!!" 😆

Nice. I had a similar issue with the Jam when they were "eating trifle, eating trifle."

Karl Popper's Paradox of Tolerance:

Less well known is the paradox of tolerance: Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them. — In this formulation, I do not imply, for instance, that we should always suppress the utterance of intolerant philosophies; as long as we can counter them by rational argument and keep them in check by public opinion, suppression would certainly be unwise. But we should claim the right to suppress them if necessary even by force; for it may easily turn out that they are not prepared to meet us on the level of rational argument, but begin by denouncing all argument; they may forbid their followers to listen to rational argument, because it is deceptive, and teach them to answer arguments by the use of their fists or pistols. We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant. We should claim that any movement preaching intolerance places itself outside the law, and we should consider incitement to intolerance and persecution as criminal, in the same way as we should consider incitement to murder, or to kidnapping, or to the revival of the slave trade, as criminal.”

Excellent stuff. And they're from Devon, England; who'd have thought.
I once heard someone sing "supermassive asshole" and now I can't get that out of my head.

Am listening to that set right now.

Good song!
Local band to me in the UK and first heard about them in the early 90 with lots in the local press about how big they were going to be. Little did I know how right they were. Could not get tickets for there performance in Teignmouth a few years ago  which I would have loved to have seen the local boys come good and play for their home fans.
I was rocking with it until the falseto singing kicked in.  Dropped a point...
Great playing, with particular props to Chris Wolstenholme.
Wasn't so keen on this song to start with. Now, with upgraded amp and speakers, just fekin AMAZING!!!!!

fantastic. really.
Is this a song about astrophysics?
It sounds like a mix of The White Stripes - Blue Orchid and Britney Spears - Do Something
This has a taste of EW&F. Funk!

True music anyway. Muse godlike.
Can't wait to see them (again) here in LA next week! One of my favorite live acts.

UPDATE: yea, that show was killer last year. Giant inflatable hands floating over the stage, LED covered marching band armed with giant fog cannons doing synchronized formations, band as tight and as rocking as always, played their best songs, great sound system and mix, audience totally into it and great seats near the stage. Still one of my favorite live acts and as an old guy really into music, I've seen a lot of live acts.

Worse ways to die.
Another group new to me.  every night with the RP and still I'm learning.
This album is flat out amazing.  Like a prog rebirth with a little Queen and funk thrown in.  I love how the album kicks off with a dark lyrical promise of "Pay, You must pay, You must pay for your crimes against the earth."

Then after this the albums got all synth-dub-EDM, and I just couldn't get into the music one bit. New album was completely lost on me.   They are off exploring their own direction, good for them, just not for me.
Love your dancing banana!

Rest in peace C.

Shout out to Curtis B. in Arizona who just linked to this song and RP on his Facebook page...

The heirs apparent of this sound in the US of Androids would be the likes of Prince or Queens of the Stone Age. Which is not bad at all. On the other hand, we get many mediocre entries, like Arcade Fire, being worshipped for a listen-twice-ignore-thereafter sound.

Arcade Fire are from Canada.
One of my favorite bands of all time to see live. Quite amazing... if you ever get the chance, go!

A few years ago I took my son to see them. It was his first concert and it was crazy good. Afterwards I said "Uh, Rael, don't expect too many of the rest of the shows you see in your life to be this nearly this good." I set the bar pretty high going out of the gate for him as he still hasn't seen one to top it yet.
This album is thoroughly amazing all the way through; proggy, lots of Queen influence, and some great lyrics.  After this album, the band started going over to the side of poppiness, if not some dub style music. that just seemed weak.  I'll use the Coldplay comparison - a band that put some much work and talent into some early albums, then sold out to pop in the highest order.  Muse hasn't gone full bubble gum pop, but they are sure flirting with it.

Finally, thank goodness, a Muse tune that I like.
I like the transition from Rodigo to this.
My favourite current band. The first band I've been really excited by in nearly 25 years.
Beatles - Jethro Tull - Genesis - Supertramp .... and now Muse.

And I discovered them here - when RP was playing their song 'Endlessly' more often. Good Catch Guys!
TWILIGHT baseball scene.  Took me a while to remember where I first heard it.

It would be nice to hear a baritone for once.

Or Ivan Rebroff with his four and a half octave range. He didn't need  no steenkin mike to fill a concert hall with his falsetto.

sounds better turned way, way up

Hmm. Seems like another flavor of rock'n'roll. Funky flavor at that.
Has sort of a Garbage sound. Band not trash.

Never quite noticed them before, this has made me want more.
I totally agree, assides from the great music, you get to se how the musicians enjoy every moment of it, ...no, "enjoy" is nor the right word for it ...

Saw them at Lollapalooza this summer.

This is a band that should definitely be experienced live - I went in as a "modest fan" and exited that experience as a "committed fan"

Starting to explore their catalog of work more thoroughly.

It was clear from the live show that this is a collection of three super talented musicians - in a way, they remind me of Rush.

Visually and sonically their live show completely blew me away - definitely worth seeing live.

Noticed this group on Yahoo this morning as they were listed among the 25 highest paid musical acts of the past year. Never woulda guessed that, but they were right up there with the Paul McCartneys and Beyonce's.
